If you’re into winter sports, there is some great skiing available from December to May, just 5 miles (8.2 kilometers) away at Stafdalur Ski Area. Plenty of varied slopes at Stafdalur keep ardent skiers happy, and there are numerous slopes suitable for children, too. The resort also offers the opportunity to hop on a snowmobile and head to the spectacular East Fjord mountains, Dryfjoll mountains, and deserted fjords.
Active holidaymakers will be happy to know there is a golf course nearby as well. This small golf club has nine holes and mountain scenery, making for a once-in-a-lifetime round. In the village of Seydisfiordur itself, you’ll find a swimming pool with hot tubs and a sauna, as well as the iconic Blue Church, which has a rainbow-tiled road leading to its entrance. As one of Iceland’s most picturesque places to visit, Seydisfiordur is a can’t miss stop for Instagrammers.
