Location & Nearby

Asubud Apartments are in Budardalur, a town in West Iceland about 95 miles (150 kilometers) north of Reykjavik. The town is just south of the Westfjords, on the edge of the Snaefellsnes peninsula — it’s a good base for exploring this area of Iceland. The town of Stykkisholmur is just 50 miles (85 kilometers) from the apartments. Visit the town’s Sugandisey lighthouse for beautiful views over the harbor or take a look at the striking Stykkisholmskirkja church. There’s also an interesting museum dedicated to Iceland’s volcanoes, as well as a fascinating modern art gallery that houses glacial meltwater sculptures. It’s well worth a visit.

At the tip of this peninsula is the beautiful Snaefellsjokull National Park (one of only three in Iceland). There are great hiking routes here in the summer months. You’ll also find Djupalonssandur beach nearby. This black-sand beach offers lovely views over to the Snaefellsjokull glacier. The peninsula is also a fantastic place to go whale watching. Alternatively, head north into the lower Westfjords to visit the fascinating Museum of Icelandic Sorcery and Witchcraft in Holmavik. It’s about 50 miles (80 kilometers) from the accommodation. The apartments are within easy walking distance of good amenities in Burdardalur. The town is small but has a few restaurants, a supermarket, and a gas station — all the essentials.

There are two apartments at Asubud Apartments set within a duplex building. Each apartment has two double bedrooms and can sleep up to six people thanks to the sofa bed in the living area. There’s also a private bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen, and a dining area. There is free Wi-Fi in both apartments.
