The apartment is situated on Brunir horse breeding farm in Eyjafjordur, south of Akureyri in Iceland’s far north. This is the perfect place to stay if you’re into horses and looking to learn more about the unique Icelandic horse. Eyjafjordur is a fjord that has high mountains on both sides. It’s home to small fishing villages on the shores and many farms further inland.

The fjord is teeming with an abundance of wildlife and is one of the best places in Iceland for whale watching and spotting puffins during the summer months. If you choose a whale watching tour, they often boast 100% sightseeing rates, and you can see common species, including humpback whales, white-beaked dolphins, and harbor porpoises. You might even see an orca!

The capital of the north, Akureyri, is situated at the bottom of the fjord and is just about 9.3 miles (15 kilometers) away from the apartment. Akureyri is home to museums and galleries and the northernmost botanical gardens in the world. Close to Akureyri are some of the most naturally beautiful sights in North Iceland, including the Myvatn region, Dettifoss waterfall, Godafoss waterfall, and Asbyrgi canyon - all easily accessible from the apartment.
