Location & Nearby

The Vegamot Cottages are located on the edge of the village of Dalvik, a small village in North Iceland best known for its whale watching and skiing opportunities. Though small, it has amenities for travelers, such as grocery stores and gas stations; should you seek more than that, then the Capital of the North, Akureyri, is just a 35-minute drive south.

Other than this historic and cultural town, there are many incredible Icelandic attractions within easy driving distance. The breathtaking falls of Godafoss and magnificent Lake Myvatn can be reached in 60 minutes and 90 minutes respectively, whereas lesser-known sites such as the Beer Spa and Hlidarfjall ski slopes can be reached in 10 and 40.

Facilities & Amenities

There are two Vegamot Cottages available for rent. The standard cottage has a double bed and sofa bed, thus can accommodate three. It has a kitchenette, a toilet, and a lovely outdoor hot tub, perfect for basking in the Midnight Sun or admiring the Northern Lights. The cottage also comes with free access to Dalvik’s swimming pool, 250 meters down the road; it should be noted that the cottage does not have a shower, but you can use these facilities.

The Old Farmhouse Cottage is slightly larger. It has a full kitchen, a bathroom with a shower, and a living room with a TV and DVD. There is a large sofa bed and three futons, meaning that four adults or two adults with three children will be comfortable here.

Wifi, parking, and barbecue facilities are all free and available on site.
