From Dynjandi on the Ring Road just past Hofn, you will reach Diamond Beach, just below Jokulsarlon Glacial Lagoon. It is 50 miles (78 kilometers) north of Hofn on the Ring Road and is famous for small icebergs washing up on the black sand beaches. The lagoon is an outlet of the Vatnajokull icecap. A view of the Vatnajokull icecap can be seen from the port. There is also the historic Phare de Hellir lighthouse just beyond the port. Boat tours leave from the port regularly.
