Add some action to a day of sightseeing in southwest Iceland by snowmobiling on Langjökull, Iceland's second largest glacier. This tour provides the perfect opportunity to intimately connect with one of Iceland's most beautiful ice caps and to add adventure to your travels under the Arctic Circle.
Start your day by driving to Gullfoss, Iceland's most iconic waterfall, where you will meet your snowmobiling guide. From there, you will be driven out to one of the most beautiful regions of the country—after all, nothing compliments sightseeing like a dose of adrenaline-fuelled adventure.
You will be snowmobiling in a glittering, frozen paradise that is perfect for picking up speed on your snowmobile and roar across the open, white expanses.
Before you do though, your guide will take you step by step through the process of operating a snowmobile, as well as provide you with all necessary safety equipment, such as a wind and waterproof overalls, gloves, a balaclava and a helmet.
You will also need to provide the hardcopy of your full, international driver's license. Those who do not have this can still ride the snowmobile as passengers.
When you're ready to go, it's time to take to the ice cap itself. You will be amazed and dazzled as you whizz past intricate, yet natural ice sculptures, frozen crevasses and hidden caves. You will also be provided with fantastic, sweeping views of the surrounding landscape.
After you have had an exciting hour shooting up and down the glacier, you will return to the snowmobiling base for your return journey back to Gullfoss.
So what's the delay? Make sure to liven up your day with an hour of action-packed snowmobiling on Langjökull glacier. Check availability by choosing a date.
