Daily itinerary

Day 1 - South Coast, Waterfalls & Glacier Hike

2 Day Jökulsárlon Tour | Glacier Hike, Boat Tour, Black Beach & South Coast waterfalls

Setting out from Reykjavík City, your transportation will begin by taking you to behold the various waterfalls of the south coast.

First up are Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss, two of the most visited waterfalls in Iceland. You will then have the additional pleasure of visiting their smaller and lesser-known counterparts Gljúfrabúi, Kvernufoss and Írafoss.

After a quick lunch stop, get ready to embark on your glacial adventure, as you will drive past the volcanic Eyjafjallajökull ice cap. Remember to ask your tour guide all about the colossal eruption back in 2010.

Then it is on to Mýrdallsjökull, a neighbour of Eyjafjallajökull that covers the famous and active volcano Katla. Gear up and get ready to ascend one of the glacial tongues called Sólheimajökull, where your guide will lead you on a hike of frozen scenic wonders, as you’ll explore the different crevasses and ice-sculptures found on your trail.

After descending from the glacier, it is on to Reynisfjara, a black sand beach nestling under Mt. Reynisfjall - seasonal home to numerous puffins that dive from its cliffs out to sea.

Your accommodation awaits in Seljaland, a beautiful area that boasts of Seljalandsfoss waterfall, that you are free to visit before turning in for the night.

Day 2 - Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon w. Boat Ride & Skaftafell National Park

2 Day Jökulsárlon Tour | Glacier Hike, Boat Tour, Black Beach & South Coast waterfalls

Today, get ready to take a closer look at the glacial wonders of the south coast. After stopping in the village of Vík, you will head on east, where you’ll visit the waterfall Foss á Síðu. Then, it is on to Skaftafell National Park for lunch.

Central to this vast and dazzling preservation area is Vatnajökull Glacier, the largest ice cap in Iceland and the second largest in all of Europe. One of its outlet glaciers, Breiðamerkurjökull, leads into Jökulsár glacial lagoon, one of the most visited sights of the entire country and the location for your next adventure.

Jump aboard for the incredible opportunity of a boat ride in the lagoon itself, where you will glide past the ever-changing scenery of icebergs afloat in the freezing waters. Seals also reside within the lake, so keep a look out for one of these curious creatures, as they pop their heads above the surface to catch a glimpse of these odd visitors to their home.

The icebergs of the lagoon either float out to sea or gather at the nearby Diamond Beach, where you can observe them melting in the summer sun.

After such satisfying couple of days of incredible sights and adventurous exploits, your transportation will take you back to Reykjavík City, arriving there around 21:00 (09:00pm). Don’t hesitate to book this tour now for your unforgettable south coast experience.

This was a spectacular tour that I highly recommend. It was very well-organized and all the sites were breathtaking and awe invoking. I still can't believe how many things we got to do in just two days! The glacial hike as well as the Diamond Beach/boat tour were huge highlights, though it's hard to choose since every experience was amazing and unique. In my view, the sites on this tour are even more spectacular than the Golden Circle! Our guide, Lucia, was PHENOMENAL! She was friendly, passionate and engaging, always with fascinating stories and facts to share throughout the tour. The small group size made it more personalized and Lucia made sure everyone got to do everything we set out to do as well as a couple extras based on traveler requests! Our driver, David, was also wonderful - safe on the road and always friendly and helpful. You really do need the recommended gear (hiking boots with ankle support, waterproof jacket and pants), and I'd say warm gloves and tuque as well - be sure to bring warm clothes and layers! It's well-worth the rental fee if you don't have the gear yourself. If you are travelling on a budget, it's easy to bring your own prepared lunches, though the restaurant stops all seemed nice. The hostel you stay in overnight has beautiful, cozy rooms, food for purchase (pizza and soup) as well as a kitchen to prepare your own food if you wish. There is also a fridge for storing any drinks/food you've brought with you (they allow alcohol though do not have it for sale onsite). Overall, I can't recommend it more highly. If you're going to go on only one tour of Iceland, it should definitely be this one!

The trip that I booked through the Guide to Iceland was beyond my expectations. Specifically we had a minibus of NiceTravel, small group and a very nice man as our guide. Everything that was written in the schedule became a magical reality. It was a 2day trip to the Waterfalls, glacier hike and boat trip. The accommodation was excellent, clean and cozy and we had a very nice breakfast. I have created the best memories due to this trip. Thank you all for everything! I will be back!

The sights were so beautiful. This tour is definitely worth the money. Our Italian tour guide and driver were absolutely amazing. The hostel we stayed at overnight was super nice.

This tour was fabulous! This is my second time to come to iceland, and i had joined numbers of tours. Nice travel is the one I feel the best so far. My tour guide was Lucia Odorico. She is professional, knowledgeable, helpful and well prepared. I can feel her passion to introduce the every single spot to us. I enjoyed this tour so much, and felt like I had joined a private tour. The minibus was confortable, the accommodation we stayed was cosy and clean. Such a memorable trip my friend and I have had. And I highly recommended it. Dont miss out!!! :)

My experience of visiting the first time Iceland, was really a life time changing experience, and I have to thank for that to all the people who made me feel conftable and wellcome, specially the pasionate and profesional guide of the tour Antonio, and also the nice driver who is really friendly and kind. I really recomend this tour.

An excellent tour with many highlights thanks to David, our thoughtful, energetic and insightful guide & driver. We had originally thought about renting a car and driving ourselves around Iceland but we were very glad that we didn't because David managed to fit so much into just a couple of days... and he is always trying to fit in an extra location every day that typical tourists wouldn't know about. Many thanks and happy to recommend.

This tour was a perfect way to explore the south part of Iceland. Antonio was our guide, and he did a phenomenal job of teaching us about Iceland in general and the sites we visited in particular. We explored a number of beautiful waterfalls, hiked on a glacier in crampons, walked on black beaches, and took a boat ride among breathtaking blue icebergs. The accommodations were great, and Antonio made us feel at home. I definitely recommend this trip.

We joined a 3Days Tour including Jokulsarlon tour and Golden circle. Our tour guide Antonio is amazing. He gave us lots of info about the geography of the landscape. Scenery is magnificent and spectacular. We had a good time all 3days. The van is comfortable and well equipped with wifi. Also, we love the hospitality of NICE hostel which we stayed for 2 nights. Thanks for a great time and the lovely birthday treat. Highly recommend xx

thank you my Antonio and David! You are sweet and gentle

It was awesome! We had our crazy friendly energetic David be our guide and we had a really nice tour in these two days. David tried his best to show us many beautiful waterfalls and share his knowledge of Iceland with us. And I love the "secret profile picture waterfall" ;) Highly recommended xxx

It was a fantastic tour to the south coast. Thanks to our guide David, who is passionate and devoted. He brought us to some places to enjoy better views of the scenery. I had a great time during the tour and with our guide.

It is a very nice trip! Our guide,David take us to visit wonderful sight. He is a friendly guy and very knowledgable.I highly suggest this tour to my friends who will visit Iceland in near future.

It was a wonderful two days that we were able to enjoy the southern part. Our guide Robert taught us a lot about Iceland and kindly answered our questions. Thanks to his guide, our journey has become even more wonderful. I am pleased that I met a wonderful guide.

Our two day trip to south area was awesome!! Our tour guide, Robert has a lot of knowledge to share us, and he arranged best schedule to enjoy all activities, wonderful views of Iceland for us! We enjoyed glacier hiking under bright sunny weather, it is worth visiting area! Bus driving and accommodation was very comfortable as well. Thanks to Robert, we fully enjoyed short trip and I highly suggest this tour to my friends who will visit Iceland in near future.

Great tour with Nicetravel! We had David as our guide. Such an awesome guy and very knowledgable. The secret waterfall brought by Nicetravel is the best! Hope to book with Nicetravel in the future

Wonderful views with comfortable bus and accommodation ! We were lucky to have Antonio as our guide. He was nice, responsable and helpful. He tried the best to share all his knowledge about Iceland and I really learned a lot ! It was rainy and windy the day of glacier viking and he lent his outdoor jacket to me which did me a great favour ! In a word the trip was a lot of fun thanks to our guide and driver, I would highly recommend this trip !

Our two day trip was awesome--I saw so many beautiful sights I do not even think I could pick a favorite! Our tour guide Antonio and our bus driver were great, always making sure we were comfortable and personalizing our trip to fit in what the group wanted to see. Antonio was constantly providing us with facts about the countryside and the places we were visiting and was even our personal photographer. The photos he took of my friend and I at the waterfall inside the cave were worth the price of the trip alone! The hostel was nice, and comfortable and would be the perfect place to view the northern lights on a clear night. This trip is the perfect length and a must do to get out of the city to truly experience all of the beauty Iceland has to offer!

We spent our 2 days experiencing waterfalls with picturesque rainbows, glacier hiking, driving along the beautiful country side, boat riding, and meeting new people. Weather was tricky (as it always is in Iceland), but our tour guide Antonio worked tirelessly to make sure we were constantly entertained. He not only served as our personal tour guide, but also our photographer, comedian, Icelandic historian, and by the end of the trip, friend! The hostile stay was very comfortable, and the trip was a nice length. Overall, I highly suggest this trip to anyone visiting Iceland to get out of Reykjavik and explore the country side.

Unforgettable experience of all the glacier, the hiking and the amazing view. It was rainy and foggy the first day so the horizon is poorly bad. But our guide David try the best to share all his knowledge about the south coast. I learned a lot about the volcano ladies, the puffin and the Viking. We are lucky on the second day that we can see all the perfect view before or after storm, what a great shot! So I really thank nice travel for these two day trip.

I choose this tour cause of the wonders min the south coast. The tour was really nice, we had a cancellation on the first day for glacier walk but nice travel made it sure we could do it on the second day. We stayed at nice travel hostal and it was really nice and confortable . Our tour guide was Antonio , he was super fun and made sure everybody was safe, confortable and having a good time. he is full of knowledge about Iceland and this made my trip much much better and enjoyable Our Drvier was the British man Ian , He was very nice and good driver as well. I will defiantly recommend this tour and surely will miss Antonio.

The glacier hike was unforgettable and the black sand beaches were enchanting. Our tour guides were very friendly and went the extra mile to show us some beautiful hidden waterfalls and let us pet some horses by the roadside. We also got to see the northern lights (!) which our lovely driver alerted us too. We had a wonderful time.

We are impressed with this trip with Nice Travel. We appreciate David's professional, safe, and considerate arrangement.

I was pleased with this tour and definitely thought it was worth the money! Our glacier hike was canceled the day of because of weather but they were able to reschedule to a new glacier the next day. I would remember to be flexible as the weather is so unpredictable. Keep an open mind and you will love he scenery!!!

It was the amazing two days with a very beautiful weather!!! And we saw the northern light!!!!! Our guider David is very kind, hospitality and proferssional! We do enjoy those two days! Thx~ 冰河湖和瀑布都超棒, 还看到了极光! 我家人都玩得超开心。 还有黑沙滩也很震撼~ 冬天为了 blue cave 还要再去一次!

Excellent tour! The glacier hike was incredible (and well-arranged, kudos to the guides!) Given that it could easily take an hour or more to move from one sight to the next, the tour is a blessing as you could get some shut-eye as the driver negotiates the roads. The hostel for the overnight stay was clean and professionally run.

My wife and I had a great time on this trip. Despite weather canceling our glacier walk planned for the first day, this was a blessing in disguise as we got a much better walk on the second day after the glacial lagoon. Our guide was wonderful, highly informative and attentive throughout. The accommodations were great and additional itinerary stops thanks to great timing were an added treat.

Fantastic tour! Mika was pretty much friendly and patient. The hostel was new, quiet and beautiful. Strongly recommended!

Antonio was a fantastic guide and really went far beyond the call of duty in helping my friend and I get the most from our experience in Iceland. I would highly recommend any tour with him!

The guide Antonio was great and informative. The tour was absolutely amazing. We even got to see the northern lights. Highly recommended!!

Booked this tour last minute and it was the best tour that my friend and I had! We were very fortunate to have Antonio as our tour guide. He is very knowledgeable and the best part, he still educates himself more about Iceland. Instead of googling something up, you can ask him and he'll explain everything in details for you. He has a great sense of humor which made the trip so much more fun, especially the amount of hours you have to sit! Iceland is so beautiful and it's so great that Antonio gives us the history on it as well as inform us of spots where some films were made! It was an amazing experience and we would definitely go again! Highly recommended and we've already told many of our friends as well as the people from the hotel that we're staying at, to go to this! Thank you so much again!

This trip is a great experience! We were extremely lucky to have Antonio from Nicetravel as our guide. He is very responsible and helpful in all respects and I believe he knows about the country much more than any average Icelander, he told us really a lot about everything we saw, not only the stop points, and was very nice and friendly. In total the trip was a lot of fun thanks to all participants, the driver and the guide, I definitely recommend this tour!

Highly recommended

It was a great experience! I don't need to say how wonderful these sights are. What I want to recommend is the guide David from Nicetravel, he is quite helpful, responsible and professional in the views as well as tasty food. This tour is highly recommended!

This tour definitely is the highlight of our trip to Iceland. I would give it a 5+

This 2-day trip is fantastic and we had precious and great experience during the trip. The glacier hiking and Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon are really amazing, and waterfalls is beautiful, what's more, our guide led us to a "private waterfall", making this trip a wonderful experience. We stayed in Nice Hostel, which is a nice:) hostel although we shared the bathroom. The guide and the driver are two cool and nice guys, I appreciate them very much as they kept the clothes I left on the bus, in which I put very important stuff. Anyway I had a great fun and this is a unforgettable trip!

Highly recommended of this tour, our guide David is very nice and lead us found some views which are not in the itinerary, it's a special experience for me. Small group numbers tour is very comfort and easy for us make friends with each other. The vehicle is also clean and comfortable and David is a good driver! This trip is the top one in my recommend list in Iceland!

nice experience!both bus and accomadation are comfortable. amazing view on the way. Thank our tour guide Steinar .he is suan a responsible gentleman!hope to come back in winter to see the aurora

The driver was sooooo nice! He is a happy old man and he even agreed to drive two girls to the airport, which of course he did not have to do. He was very generous to lend me his converter during the first night. That was very much appreciated. The tour guide Lucia, even though she is not an Icelander, knows a lot about Iceland and she was telling us a lot of funny things during the drives. Moreover, she was really caring and passionate. This tour is highly recommended!

Best trip from our 5 days in Iceland. Good program, friendly tour guide, small problems with the acomendation, but still a fun trip. Highly recommend

This is the best tour which I experienced in Iceland. Perfect guide and nice natural beauty. Especially the second day, the whole day was full of ice, how exciting it was!

We joined two day tour, southern coast tour from 9th-10th June with Nicetavel. That was wonderful. it was very unique experience we didn't have before. In particular, our guider David is so nice ,so friendly and professional. He is the best one in our whole month journey. We did enjoyed his thoughtly service and sincerely recommend Nicertravel and David himself. Wish you all the best

Our guide, Antonia, was a highlight in this tour. He is so good at introducing everything, friendly, and very talkative. He made the long time driving not boring at all! He loves travelling, told us he is a photographer and tried to point our the best view points in all sites. All the other attendees in our tour were also kind and nice. It was a great group! However, I am not very happy with the changes the company have made after my booking. When I booked the trip, I got doubled confirmed by email that we would go to the Svartifoss. But we didn't go there as they said it has been taken away without changing the description on website or notifying to the pre-booked customers. This made a huge pity for my mom and made me very dispointed (personally reasons)! Also, they have moved the overnight living place from Hofn village to be somewhere close Sellfoss. You will miss Hofu village. We drove almost all the way back which made the trip not effective at all! Just to emphasize, Antonia is one of the best guides I meet and the best one in this whole Iceland trip!

They adjusted the program according to our whishes. On the second day in the evening -after the checkin in the hotel- the driver took us separately down to a restaurant and drove us back. The second day they have showd us extra places. even though we were already way late compared to the schedule.Mika took an extra stop that we see puffins as well. (we did!). we asked to see as much as possible, so we arrived late 11.30 PM to Reykjavik. even though it was late, they took us not only to the hotel, but to another place before, where we left our luggage. We hava seen fascinating areas. For those who have seen geysirs already I think there in no better 2 day tour than this at the south cost. we had everything: waterfalls, (also those without tourists),glacier - with hike, lagoon with icebergs, authentic earth covered houses, varied vast scenery (huge moren field, top of the montain 360 degree seacost view-glaciers..)

really excited !
