Your adventure will begin in Reykjavík, where you will be picked up by your friendly guide.
You will explore the Snaefellsnes Peninsula, a magical part of the country, sometimes referred to as Iceland in miniature. The picturesque landscapes and magnificent mountains of Snaefellsnes are punctuated by the impressive volcanic glacier Snaefellsjokull.
You will also explore the famous Golden Circle. This is a collection of some must-see attractions in Iceland, including Thingvellir National Park, Gullfoss waterfall, the Geysir Geothermal Area and more.
You will then head down the South Coast, taking in the incredible waterfalls that look like they could be the setting of a fantasy film.
Also on the trip south, you will witness the otherworldly Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach with it's crashing waves and fascinating rock formations.
You will then head further east towards the icy wonders that are the Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon and the Diamond Beach.
Your adventure will be completed with a glacier hike and a visit to the Blue Ice Cave.

Daily itinerary
Day 1 - Snæfellsnes peninsula
Today is about exploring a place that has inspires a great deal of fantasy. You will start in Reykjavik and leave the city behind as you head west.
You will eventually arrive in the stunningly beautiful Snaefellsnes Peninsula. This part of the country is often referred to as Iceland in miniature. The area has many of the different and unique landscapes available in Iceland.
Snaefellsnes is filled with incredible sights including endless black sand beaches, moss topped lava fields volcanic craters and costal cliffs that look like they could be the setting of an epic sci-fi film.
This part of Iceland is home to the stunning Kirkjufell mountain. This odd-shaped natural wonder might look familiar if you are a fan of the hit HBO show ‘Game of Thrones’ because it was used as the mountain that looks like an arrowhead.
Another notable spot you will see today is the volcanic glacier Snafellsjokull. This magnificent location was the setting at the beginning of the famous Jules Verne novel ‘Journey to the Centre of the Earth.’
Once you have taken in the incredible sights of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, you will be returned to your accommodation in Reykjavik where you can relax and prepare for another incredible day.
Day 2 - The Golden circle
Today you will travel along one of the most famous and sought after trails for those coming to Iceland, the Golden Circle.
You will begin your day leaving Reykjavik and driving through the Icelandic countryside. You will see some places of natural beauty as well as areas of great historical significance to Icelanders.
One stop you will make is Thingvellir National Park. This UNESCO World Heritage Listed site is the meeting point for the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates. It is also the site of the world’s oldest parliament.
You will also see the mighty Gullfoss waterfall. This powerful waterfall cascades 32 metres down two steps. Another incredible site you will visit is the Geysir Geothermal Area. This is the home of Strokkur, a geyser that bursts up to 20 metres into the air almost every 5 minutes.
The day also includes a visit to Kerið volcanic crater, Faxi waterfall, and a stop at a traditional Icelandic farm to see and pet some horses and get a taste of homemade Icelandic ice cream. You will spend the night in the Selfoss area.
Day 3 - The Waterfalls of the South Coast
You will head off from your accommodation and begin your journey along Iceland’s South Coast.
The first stop is at Seljalandsfoss waterfall. This fall cascades over the mouth of a cave where during the warmer months, visitors are able to walk behind the falls.
Not far from Seljalandsfoss is the Gljufrabui waterfall. This natural wonder lies in a gorge that is normally hidden from most people. The waterfall's name translates to 'Canyon Dweller' in English.
To reach the hidden fall involves a trek across some rocks lying over a river bed. This is a fun experience in testing your balance.
You will also vist Skógafoss waterfall. This fall is sometimes referred to as 'the pearl of the South Coast.' This incredibly tall fall tumbles down 60 metres. It creates a great mist that produces rainbows in the sunlight.
If you want a bit of a workout, you can try climbing 527 steps to the top; your guide will be timing you!
Another exciting site you will visit is the Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach. In this area, the coastline meets with the Atlantic Ocean. Waves crash against hexagonal basalt columns. The spectacular Dyrholaey sea stacks lie not far from the beach. These rock formations have many stories attached to them about trolls who accidentally stayed out too long and were turned to stone by sunlight.
You will end your day at your accommodation on the South Coast.
Day 4 - Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon
Today you will visit the crown jewel of Iceland, the Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon. This picturesque and otherworldly area is an incredibly popular spot for visitors to Iceland. Jokulsarlon is the most famous glacier lagoon in Iceland. It is filled with the meltwater from the nearby Vatnajokull Glacier.
What makes this place so popular is the incredible icy beauty there. Icebergs break off from the glacier and slowly drift through the lagoon. The colours of these icy giants range from glowing blues to whites and greys, sometimes streaked with volcanic ash, giving a marbled appearance.
If you are on this tour between May and October, you will have the opportunity of taking a boat tour which you can arrange with your provider.
Next to Jokulsarlon is the incredible Diamond Beach. This stretch of black sand is a resting place for some of the smaller blocks of ice as the icebergs make their way out to sea. The ice formations resting against the black sand give the area a jewelled appearance which is how the place gets the name ‘Diamond Beach.’ This is a fantastic place to get some spectacular pictures.
Next, it will be time to complete your adventure. You will travel to an outlet from one of the largest glaciers in Iceland. You will be fitted with safety and glacier equipment and be given a briefing. Then you will have the experience of an arctic explorer and take a hike on a glacier.
This is a great experience where you will learn about how glaciers are formed. You will also take in views that many could only dream of. The pinnacle of this part of your trip is that you will also step into the Blue Ice Cave. Ice caves are naturally forming phenomenon. Each ice cave is as unique as a fingerprint.
You will then make your way back to the base camp where you will be taken back along the South Coast to Reykjavík. You will have countless memories and fantastic pictures to treasure of your 4-day adventure.
