Join this easy bike tour from the picturesque village of Patreksfjörður in the Westfjords.
We start by driving 60 km to the stunning Látrabjarg cliffs from the Tourist Centre.
Látrabjarg is the western-most point of Europe, a 14 km long and up to 440 m high cliff. This is the biggest sea bird colony in the Northern Atlantic. No place in the world is better to photograph puffins and other sea birds, while grey seals might add their presence to your picture as they relax on the rocks under the cliffs. Awe-inspiring landscape, white sand beaches, the turquoise colour of the ocean and the unique characteristics of the Southern Westfjords surround us.
From Látrabjarg we'll go on a fun cycle ride to the interesting Heritage Museum at Hnjótur, where we'll learn about people's lifestyle in the old days, how they rescued foreign fishermen from stranded ships under the Látrabjarg cliffs, and how important Látrabjarg and the sea were in the locals' life. Refreshment at the museum is optional.
From Hnjótur we cycle to the gorgeous Rauðasandur beach, where the beach's red colour contrasts with the nearby black cliffs and the blue ocean. The local guide will take you to incredible view points where you can admire the breathtaking nature.
This tour combines intimate encounter with wild nature, stunning landscape, amazing birdlife, high speed, action and culture. Don't miss it. Check availability by choosing a date.
