Embark on a journey of the Golden Circle where you'll see the rugged lava fields of the Þingvellir National Park, the spellbinding sight of Gullfoss waterfall, and the erupting hot springs at Geysir geothermal area on this fun-filled tour. Not only will you see these famous attractions, but you'll also stop at the red hills of Rauðhólar.

A personal guide and driver will pick you up in Reykjavík, in a comfortable 4WD jeep, and take you to your first attraction, Þingvellir National Park. In 2004, UNESCO designated it as a World Heritage region, as it is here Iceland's parliament, Alþingi, was established in 930 AD.

Þingvellir is also located in a rift valley, between two continental plates. The park is surrounded by moss-covered lava field and sits on the banks of Iceland's largest lake, Þingvallavatn.

As your journey continues, you will be taken through the countryside to the stunning Gullfoss waterfall. Witness the powers of Mother Nature as you watch glacial water tumble down 32-metes into a rugged canyon. Gullfoss means 'Golden Waterfall'. It is indeed an enthralling sight!

Your final stop on the Golden Circle route is at the Geysir region. Here you will come across many bubbling hot springs and mud pools, but the most exciting sight is the geyser Strokkur that spouts a vast quantity of water into the air every 5-10 minutes.

Before you return to Reykjavík, you'll stop at Rauðhólar red hills, which are the remnants of a collection of pseudocraters located in the lava field of Elliðaárhraun. Iceland presents the only area that you can experience this marvel in the world as the only region you can come across something similar is in Athabasca Valles of Mars.

Great experience! Andres made sure we hit all the stops on the Golden Circle and gave us enough time at every stop. I never felt rushed (compared to other group experiences I have had) and Andres really focused on how we were doing and what we wanted to do. The weather all day was pretty bad -- very rainy and cold -- but Andres made sure we had fun, stopped somewhere to get warm and dry when we needed, and was enthusiastic the entire time. Would definitely recommend Andres and his tour!

I took this tour with my teenaged children. I chose it first because we had to start our day late and Andres was completely flexible in what time we started and where he would pick us up. I was also interested to compare a private tour in a jeep with minibus and big bus tours I've done in Iceland. This tour really stood out. What we saw, the order we saw it in, and how long we spent was entirely up to us. Andres was full of welcome suggestions and always remembered to include time for rests and coffee and bathroom breaks. He is very knowledgeable not only about the sites but the areas you're driving through and he's happy to talk about anything and everything you find interesting. I've done the same tour in the past on a big bus and I learned a lot more with Andres. It was a very pleasant day and tailored entirely to what we felt like doing. He included extras he thought we might find interesting, and if we changed our minds as the day progressed he was okay with that. It was a bit like driving around with a friend who has taken a day off to show you the sights -- a really knowledgeable friend. It was a nice change from buses and crowds. I recommend it!

I was so glad that I booked a personal tour with Andres. He was incredibly flexible in the schedule, being open to picking us up at 1 p.m. on Sunday (we had just landed at 9 a.m. that morning). He gave us the option of visiting the Secret Lagoon instead of Kerid, but we really wanted to see the crater. I appreciated him giving us the option before we left the hotel. He was personable, friendly, and had just the right amount of information to share regarding the various places we visited. He even took pictures of us at Gullfoss with his personal camera and shared them with us the next day. He gave us plenty of time to stop for coffee or browse for souvenirs, and he even moved his car to a more convenient location so we could meet up with him after taking our time walking through a couple of sites. Book Andres and you will not be disappointed; he was simply fantastic!
