Seljalandsfoss is considered to be one of the most popular natural tourist attractions found along Iceland's South Coast.
Many proponents of myth and folklore claim the rock stacks of Reynisfjara are petrified trolls.
At example of the distinctive basalt columns found in the cliff faces of Reynisfjara black sand beach.
Visitors to Sólheimajökull can walk right up besides the enormous ice cap.
From Dyrhólaey, guests are blessed with absolutely staggering views over the South Coast.
Glacier hiking should only ever be tackled with certified guides given the inherent dangers hidden on the ice cap.

Visit the wonders along the South Coast of Iceland, on this excellent day tour. This trip should appeal to anyone with a passion for spectacular nature, with a particular call to the adventurous, as it is possible to opt into a glacier hike or snowmobile while booking.

Your tour will begin when you are picked up from your Reykjavík accommodation in a minibus; this vehicle is more comfortable than a larger bus and allows you to have more personal interactions with your guide. Once your group is gathered, you will head straight along Highway 1 along the South Coast.

There are many landmarks you will stop and see on this journey, starting with two waterfalls. Seljalandsfoss is one of the few falls in the country it is possible to walk behind; you can, in fact, fully encircle it for some unique and beautiful perspectives due to the shape of the cliff it falls from.

Skógafoss is a much more classic waterfall, with an incredibly powerful water flow. It is possible to walk very close to where the water is smashing upon the ground and to ascend a staircase next to it for some great views over it.

Between these two waterfalls, you may see Eyjafjallajökull, the sub-glacial volcano that gained fame in 2010 when its eruption seriously disturbed air-travel. If the weather is very clear, you may also see the Westman Islands rising craggily from the ocean surface.

You will have a lunch stop in the village of Vík, and have a chance to look into the Icelandic Wool Shop and Factory. Following this, you have several options. If you seek some adventure, you can opt into a thrilling glacier hike or snowmobiling tour from here on the magnificent Sólheimajökull glacier, although it means you will be returning with a different group.

If you would rather keep to sightseeing, however, you can simply hop back on the bus and head along the road back to Reykjavík. The tour is far from over, however; you will make a stop at Reynisfjara black-sand beach, one of the most beautiful non-tropical beaches in the world, where you can admire some fascinating geology, such as the Reynisdrangar sea stacks. A little further down the road, you will stop again at the enormous Dyrhóley rock arch, home to puffins during the summer, and incredible geology the year round.

After enjoying this coastal scenery, you will continue onto the glacier Sólheimajökull, where you can walk right up to the beautiful ice. The colouration and scale of it are sure to mesmerise, and if you come during winter, you may even get to see an ice cave. Following this, you will return to the minibus and shoot back to Reykjavík

Don’t miss this incredible tour of the South Coast, during which you can add as much adventure as you like. Check availability by choosing a date.
