Explore the three fascinating sites of the Golden Circle and take an exhilarating snorkelling tour in between the tectonic plates in Iceland. This fabulous excursion is conducted on a modern bus with free Wifi, a tablet in every seat and audio guidance in ten different languages.

Starting in Reykjavík, you will be picked up by a friendly, knowledgeable tour guide, and after your group is gathered, the adventure will begin. You will set out to the first of the sites of the Golden Circle, Iceland’s most popular sightseeing route, to discover the wonders at Þingvellir National Park.

This National Park sits directly between two tectonic plates, the edges of which are clearly visible throughout the area. Throughout winter, it is a wonderland of snow and ice; in summer, it boasts stunning landscapes of forest, lava fields and dozens of springs flowing into a vast lake to the south.

It is within one of these springs that your snorkelling adventure will be conducted. Silfra is a runs through a narrow fissure, filled with water so clean that you can drink it and marvel through visibility of 100 metres. Though cold, you will be protected by drysuits, and experienced guides will be on hand to help with any of your needs.

After the underwater excursion of a lifetime, you’ll warm up before shooting off to the other sites of the Golden Circle. Next up is the explosive geyser of Strokkur; several times an hour, it will blast water to heights that exceed ten and on occasion even twenty metres. The land around is dotted with smaller geysers, hot springs and fumaroles, and the earth is dyed vividly with minerals from the geothermal activity.

Finally, you’ll reach the country’s most beloved waterfall, Gullfoss. No matter when you visit, it promises to be a spectacular site; in winter, you are likely to see it surrounded by icy rocks, whereas in summer, the interplay between the sunlight and mist create many beautiful rainbows.

After a full day of exploration and adventure, you’ll be whisked back to Reykjavík with enough time to enjoy any evening plans.
