Experience the best that Iceland has to offer with this perfectly balanced day tour sightseeing the three major attractions of the world famous "Golden Circle" route with an added spot of bathing at the luxurious Secret Lagoon.

This is the perfect tour for travellers looking to maximise their days in Iceland, as well as those who feel hot pool bathing is the perfect compliment to a day's sightseeing.

You will begin by being picked up from your accommodation in Iceland's capital city, Reykjavik, before being driven out roughly forty minutes to your first stop of the day, Þingvellir National Park.

This is the only UNESCO World Heritage site in Iceland, a position it holds thanks not only to its cultural significance to the Icelandic people—it was here the first parliament was formed in 930 AD—but also because of its unique geology. Þingvellir is one of the only places on earth where it is possible to see the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates standing exposed from the earth!

When your time at Þingvellir is over, you will head to the second stop on the Golden Circle route, Haukadalur geothermal valley. This fascinating area is home to countless steaming fumaroles and bubbling mud cauldrons, as well as the mighty hot spring, Strokkur. This hot spring erupts every five to ten minutes, shooting hot jets of water over twenty metres into the air. Don't forget your camera—you wouldn't want to miss the perfect shot!

The final stop of the Golden Circle sightseeing route is the mighty waterfall, Gullfoss. This impressive feature sees glacial water cascading over two enormous cragged steps into a dramatic valley below, causing a scenic cloud of mist that half-masks the scene. Thanks to its beauty and its power, Icelanders often refer to Gullfoss as the "Queen of Icelandic Waterfalls".

Now that the sightseeing segment of the tour is over, it's time to soak your tired muscles in the soothing geothermal waters of the Secret Lagoon. This gorgeous spa makes for a quieter alternative to the Blue Lagoon and also boasts its own geothermal marvels, only steps from the main bathing area.

So don't delay any longer! Hurry now and you too can experience the thrills of the Golden Circle sightseeing route, balanced perfectly with the relaxing heat of the Secret Lagoon. Check availability by choosing a date.

Reviews

Great experience! Our guide Johan, who spoke Icelandic, English, Norwegian, Danish and swedish, took us out on a great day. It started with snow and rain chaos.. the main roads where closed so most of the other tours got cancelled but our guide changed the order of the different attractions and we ended up seeing all the different spots. It took us Abit longer to go around the route obviously but it was worth it.. great tour and excellent guide!!

It was wonderful. The guide was knowledgeable and yet didnt talk TOO much. It was well paced and thorough.

A fantastic day out.

This was a great tour. Our tour guide/driver was informative and likable. We did not stop at a local restaurant for dinner or Kerid but we did stop to pet friendly Icelandic horses.
