You will begin the day's adventure by being picked up from your accommodation in Reykjavik before being driven approximately forty minutes to Þingvellir National Park, Iceland's only UNESCO World Heritage site. Here, you will the dramatic Almannagjá, the exposed North American tectonic plate, as well as read about the park's important place in Iceland's political history.

After Þingvellir National Park, you will head to the Haukadalur geothermal area, home to the popular hot springs, Geysir (now dormant) and Strokkur. Strokkur erupts once every 8-10 minutes to the height of 15-20 meters, causing a fantastic visual display and a worthy photograph. There are also a number of bubbling mud pools and steam vents to see at Haukadalur before moving on to your third stop on the Golden Circle.

The dramatic waterfall, Gullfoss ("Golden Falls"), is at the river Hvítá, which itself originates from the glacier lake at Lángjökull, about 40 km north. It's one of the most majestic tourist attractions in Iceland, a must-see for all those visiting the country; over two rocky crags, water cascades a staggering 32 metres into the gorge below.

At the end of the tour,  you will take a natural and unique bath at the Secret Lagoon, the cheaper and more intimate cousin of the world famous Blue Lagoon Spa. The pool’s beautiful surroundings, complemented by clouds of rising steam, give the pool a truly magical atmosphere.

The warm water stays at 38-40 Celsius all year and there are several geothermal spots in the area, as well as a little Geysir which erupts every 5 minutes. After your time at the Secret Lagoon is over, you will make the return journey to your accommodation in Reykjavik.
