Enjoy a customised travel experience in Iceland on this guided Golden Circle excursion with private transportation. If you want to see the country’s most celebrated sightseeing route without boarding a bus full of tourists, this tour has a maximum of only six travellers, making it the perfect choice for you and your travel companions.

Your adventure begins as you get picked up in Reykjavík City and meet with your experienced, local guide for the day. After boarding your private vehicle, you will leave the city limits, driving through the lava plateau Hellisheiði along Route One to arrive at the most famous sightseeing route in the land of ice and fire, the Golden Circle.

You begin by visiting an incredible site of both historical and geological importance, Þingvellir National Park. A continental rift valley dotted with visible cracks and fissures where the Eurasian and North-American tectonic plates meet, this beautiful location was the site of Iceland’s first parliamentary body, Alþingi.

As you walk between two worlds along the Almannagjá Gorge, admiring the volcanic landscapes around you, know that you’ll be standing where chieftains of the Settlement era decided the laws of the land and settled the bloodiest family feuds of the Viking Age.

Leaving Þingvellir behind, your next stop will be at the geothermal valley Haukadalur, the home of the geyser that gave all the others its name, Geysir. The geyser's highly active neighbour Strokkur erupts boiling water high up into the air every 10 minutes. Enjoy the stunning geothermal scenery of mud pools, hot vents and fumaroles, before stopping for snacks and getting back in the car to visit the namesake of this incredible sightseeing route.

The Golden Falls, or Gullfoss, is a gigantic waterfall of raw, unharnessed power. Take a walk to the viewing platform to admire the falls’ powerful cascade, as it plunges down two tiers into a grand canyon below, leaving no visitor disappointed.

After these three primary sights, you will be treated to an additional stop at Kerið, a 3,000 years-old crater lake in the midst of a volcano. The lake is opaque and strikingly blue against the caldera’s rusty red walls that are lined with a blanket of green moss.

Book your private Golden Circle excursion now, to enjoy the most celebrated sights of Iceland with comfort and luxury. Check availability by choosing a date.
