Set out on the exciting 10-hour Silver Circle super jeep tour from Reykjavik, where you explore waterfalls, hot springs, glaciers, and Iceland’s most scenic valleys. Perfect for travelers who want the thrill of an off-road ride, this small group tour takes you to the beauty of West Iceland’s hidden gems.
Your adventure begins with a morning pickup in Reykjavik. After meeting your expert driver-guide, you climb aboard a custom super jeep built for Iceland’s rugged terrain. Its oversized tires and advanced suspension carry you beyond the reach of standard vehicles.
As you leave the city, sweeping views open across Hvalfjordur Fjord and into the wild beauty of West Iceland. The road winds through valleys, mountain ridges, and stretches of black lava fields, setting the tone for a day filled with unforgettable sights.
The Silver Circle highlights the power and beauty of West Iceland while offering a less crowded alternative to the Golden Circle. From roaring waterfalls to frozen glaciers, each stop reveals a different side of the country’s natural wonders.
Your first destination is Deildartunguhver, Europe’s most powerful hot spring. Clouds of steam rise from bubbling water, and a walkway lets you get close while staying safe. This hot spring is so strong that it supplies nearby towns with geothermal energy.
Next, you visit the contrasting waterfalls of Hraunfossar and Barnafoss. At Hraunfossar, countless streams flow gently from beneath a lava field, creating a wide, shimmering cascade. Just a short walk away, Barnafoss crashes forcefully through a narrow canyon.
You’ll pause for a midday break in the peaceful woodlands of Husafell. Surrounded by birch trees and fresh mountain air, it’s a quiet moment to rest and refuel.
From here, the paved road ends as the super jeep navigates rugged highland trails. It crosses rocky tracks and steep slopes before reaching Langjokull, Iceland’s second-largest glacier. Here, you step onto a vast world of snow and ice.
For an even more unique experience, you can choose to join the Into the Glacier tour in Langjokull. Guided through shimmering blue tunnels carved deep inside Langjokull, you experience a surreal perspective on this frozen giant.
In summer (late June to early September), you may get the chance to cross the Kaldidalur Mountain Pass to Thingvellir National Park on the way back to Reykjavik. Here, you walk between tectonic plates and admire one of Iceland’s most beautiful and historic landscapes.
In case of a road closure, we will adjust the route accordingly and skip Thingvellir National Park.
Throughout the tour, your local guide shares stories about Iceland’s landscapes and geology, and folklore, turning every stop into a deeper experience. With a small group, you enjoy personal attention from your guide and the freedom to explore without the rush.
