Come along on this unique sightseeing tour of the beautiful northern nature. See the most powerful waterfall in Europe and spend time relaxing in an Icelandic natural hot spring.

On this tour, you will visit two of the most fabulous waterfalls of northern Iceland, Dettifoss and Goðafoss. You will also get to relax and enjoy the fantastic view over Lake Mývatn in the geothermal hot springs of Mývatn Nature Baths.

The tour starts from the town of Akureyri, where you will be picked up and driven to the east side of the fjord Eyjafjörður. There you can enjoy the beautiful view from the mountains over the sparkling bay.

The first stop is the Waterfall of the Gods, or Goðafoss, renowned for its fascinating history as the symbolic location of Iceland's conversion to Christianity. You will be given plenty of time to take in the magical and magnificent beauty of this cascade before hitting the road again.

You'll head on out to the Lake Mývatn area, where you can enjoy spectacular views of the lake and its unusual geological formations.

From the lake, you'll visit Dettifoss which is rumoured to be the most powerful waterfall in Europe. There is a short hike from the parking lot to Dettifoss, so make sure you'll bring your hiking shoes.

Witness the full force of the Icelandic nature, as you feel the cool glacier water spraying on your face. Dettifoss is this 100-metre wide waterfall cascades down into the Jökulsárgljúfur canyon with shocking power.

After snapping some amazing photos of Dettifoss, it is time to return to the Mývatn area to unwind after a day of sightseeing.

At the Mývatn Nature Baths, you can relax in the warm geothermal waters, surrounded by nothing but the unspoilt nature. Enjoy the moment, reflect on the day, and let the mineral rich waters soothe your muscles.

At the Nature Bath's restaurant, you can opt for some refreshments like a cold beverage or a traditional Icelandic soup before you get back to your ride.

After a good time at Mývatn, it is time to drive back to Akureyri where you can enjoy the northern atmosphere of this vibrant town.

We did a private tour (just two of us plus the guide) and had a great time. The tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. We wanted to get a good overview of the area around Akureyri and this was perfect. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a good overall sightseeing tour of the north.
