Description

Come along on this fantastic day tour where you’ll get to experience the beauty and serenity of Iceland’s South Coast all the way to the quaint village of Vík. Those looking to see sparkling waterfalls, dramatic black-sand beaches, and majestic glaciers should not let this amazing opportunity pass them by.

You’ll head out of the city in the morning after being picked up by your friendly and knowledgeable guide. Your journey will take you to some of Iceland’s most iconic natural features, so make sure you remember your camera.

You’ll be driven through vast farmlands while the glacier-covered peaks of Eyjafjallajökull volcano tower over you on your left-hand side, and to your right is nothing but the ill-tempered waters of the Atlantic Ocean.

Then it is off to Seljalandsfoss, a beautiful waterfall that tumbles over a cliff with a cave that runs along its base. This unusual feature allows visitors to fully encircle the cascade, even walking behind the torrent of water.

Next up is the majestic Skógafoss waterfall. The land underneath this 60-metre tall waterfall is very flat, allowing you to walk right up to the wall of water. There is also a staircase that leads you to the top of the cascade where you will have breathtaking panoramic views of the most remote interior regions of Iceland: the Highlands.

You’ll then make a stop at Sólheimajökull glacier where long ribbons of jet-black ash have coloured the white and blue ice, before making your way to the beautiful black sand beach of Reynisfjara.

It is here where the roaring waves of the Atlantic Ocean crash upon the massive Reynisdrangar sea stacks. Out in the distance, you’ll see an unusually shaped rock arch known as Dyrhólaey Peninsula. After a stop at the charming village of Vík, which sits on the banks of Reynisfjara beach, it is time to head back home to Reykjavík.
