Embark on a unique kayaking tour at the roots of the magnificent Mount Kirkjufell which not only promises beautiful landscape views from the water but also the chance to catch a fish! This adventure is a must do for all nature and fishing lovers visiting Iceland and the perfect voyage to take while visiting the stunning Snaefellsnes peninsula.
The combination of fishing and kayaking is rarely offered on tours, so this is your exclusive opportunity to enjoy both activities alongside sightseeing for a day to remember.
It’s probably hard to get any more in touch with nature than when paddling through the calm sea with your fishing rod, and all you can hear are the sounds of the ocean and birds chirping. You might very well also meet one or two of the residential seals on your way!
Before you head out, your friendly and experienced guide will start by getting you geared up. You can expect top-notch equipment and gear which include a life jacket, dry suit, thermal undersuit, shoes, and gloves as well as a fully equipped fishing kayak.
If you haven't done any kayaking or fishing before there is no need to worry, your guide will go through all the basics with you and also teach you the right techniques. You will then receive a safety demonstration from your guide who will ensure everybody is confident before heading to sea.
Your guide, Garðar is a local and knows the area like the back of his hand. He’s been fishing since he was a little boy and knows precisely where to take you to catch the big ones! The most common fish in this area is cod, and this is a "catch and release" tour.
After the tour, you can relax on nearby decking as you enjoy the view and a warm complimentary refreshment.
Don´t miss out on this unique opportunity to experience the natural beauty of the famous Mt. Kirkjufell up close and catch a few fish at the same time! Check availability by choosing a date.
