Reserve your place on this cosy minibus tour and go hunting for the Northern Lights in the company of new friends! This tour is for anyone who has ever admired pictures of the Northern Lights and wished they could run away to Iceland.

You’ll finally see them yourself on this special evening. With a small group, you can have your own communion with nature, and ask your guide all the questions you have. You’ll be picked up at your accommodation and whisked off to the country away from the noise and bright lights of Reykjavik, allowing you to hunt for the Northern Lights in the silence and darkness of the Icelandic winter.

You’ll be outside in the elements while you hunt for the Aurora, so be sure to bundle up and wear your favourite woollen socks. Your tour guides will help to keep you warm with a supply of hot chocolate and ginger biscuits.

Remember that although they are fascinating, the Lights are also unpredictable: the Aurora Forecast in Iceland gives a likelihood every day of where they may be found, but sightings cannot be guaranteed. If you are unlucky and don’t spot any Northern Lights on your tour, you can book yourself another night - for free!

The Northern Lights can be white, blue, green, pink or even red. These colours are caused by particles from solar winds slamming into the earth’s magnetic field. When these charged particles hit the oxygen-rich atmosphere, they react with the different chemicals and burst into glorious colour!

Don’t miss this brilliant display of natural wonder. Check the booking availability by choosing a date.

the guide was nice and told us about the science behind auroras. we went to a place outside town. it was awesome. one of the coolest moments of my life! it was sooo cold outside but the auroras were worth it. the van had wifi and i was able to search for camera settings for taking pictures of the northern lights.

We went out with GB our first night in Iceland and while the lights did not appear, we really appreciated his commitment and efforts in attempting to find some activity. We drove to 3-4 different spots and were out quite late. Even though we didn’t see the aurora that night, it was an enjoyable experience as he was funny and informative. The ability to re-book at no cost was a wonderful option and while out with Thor a few nights later we were treated to a very beautiful show.

Early in September but we still managed to see it!

Our guide Thor was fantastic. He gave us an amazing view of the lights dancing in the sky and the Milky Way. Well done.

First off, I am a HUGE review reader, I saw all the compliments about how the minibus tour is so much better because of the smaller group and you're able to get to different spots that bigger busses can’t, and they were 100% spot on. Colby, our tour guide took us to a spot where we were the only people and no other tour busses were there, it was great! Colby was also such a great tour guide. He told us so much history about Iceland and was more than happy to answer any questions we had. On our way to his “secret spot” he informed us on the correct camera setting and apps to download on our phones to get the best pictures possible. We did end up seeing the lights which was an amazing site to see! I highly recommend this tour. Iceland is such a special place and I can’t wait to go back!

Tour guide was wonderful, he seemed to really care whether or not we saw the lights and drove around looking for them for a long time. When he decided it was best to give up, he stopped by a beautiful waterfall that was lit up at night so we could get something out of the trip.

Sighting the Northern Lights was the main reason being making the trip to Iceland, all the way from India. And I am glad that I choose Guide to Iceland - Trips Iceland for the same, as we got first time lucky to sight this green wonder. Our guide Mr. Olafsson was very friendly and cheerful person, who gave good background of the country and culture. He took us to nice spots to view the lights and kept us all engaged with his talks, jokes, signing and dances too. Really liked the experience.

He was a fantastic guide very friendly and lovely sense of humour! The lights were amazing not as bright as we hoped but we still saw them and enjoyed them under the stars with hot chocolate and cookies! Thourghly recommend these guys they’re fantastic and full of knowledge about the science behind the lights!

Fantastic experience! The first spot had no luck, so our guide drove us out another 10mins. We waited for about 20mins and then the northern lights put on a beautiful show. Our guide also had hot chocolate for all of us, which was a welcome treat in the cold. Highly recommended.
