Discover some of the world's cleanest and clearest water with a mesmerizing three-hour snorkeling tour in Silfra. Those eager to explore the incredible underwater landscape of one of the ten best diving spots in the world should book this private tour.

This excursion begins from the Silfra parking lot in Thingvellir National Park, West Iceland. Only 33.5 miles (53.9 kilometers) from Reykjavik, this trip easily fits into an exploration of the Golden Circle sightseeing route.

Travelers do not need special skills for this easy-level tour. Most travelers aged 12 and over can join this snorkeling trip after signing a questionnaire to say they can swim and have good health.

Before you enter the water, a PADI-certified instructor will set you up with all the necessary snorkeling gear. This equipment includes dry suits and special undersuits to keep you dry and warm in the water.

Your gloves and hood will be neoprene, which provides comfort and flexibility.

Snorkeling in Silfra is a unique experience. It is the only place you can see two tectonic plates as you float through crystal-clear glacier water.

The visibility beats even the cleanest waters in the Caribbean or Egypt, boasting up to 328 feet (100 meters) on a sunny day. When you look forward underwater, the intensity of the vivid blues will take your breath away. Silfra opened in 1789 due to the gradual separation of the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates.

When the earth cracks open in such a way, some areas fill with water. In this case, the water in the Silfra is filtered on its slow journey from Langjokull glacier, making it pure and drinkable.

This process also stops the water from freezing. Instead, it maintains a constant temperature of two to three degrees Celsius. As such, you can still embark on this tour in the depths of winter.

Though the appeal of this forty-minute-long experience is the breathtaking underwater scenery and vibrant colors, you can occasionally see wildlife such as Arctic Char. Your course will take you through a short maze, over a cathedral-like chamber, and into a shallow lagoon filled with algae.

The perfect mix of excitement and relaxation, you will love the peaceful feeling as you float through the water. Your guide will be on hand throughout should you have any issues with your equipment. They will also take photos that you'll have access to at the end of the tour.

Don't miss this private three-hour experience snorkeling through beautiful glacier-fed water at one of the top ten dive sites in the world. Check availability by choosing a date.
