Experience the diversity of Iceland’s nature with this private day tour. Visit the South Coast and take a short excursion to the Highlands to see the spectacular landscapes shaped by glaciers and volcanoes. Those wanting a fun, unique, and personal tour should not let this opportunity pass them by.

You and your favourite people will be picked up in Reykjavík by a super jeep, a large vehicle built to handle the rough Icelandic terrain, and then whisked away on your private adventure.

The first stop of the day is the majestic waterfall Seljalandsfoss, located on the South Coast. This stunning cascade tumbles down a concave cliff face, so a cave is visible from behind the falling springwater.

From there you'll take a detour into the Highlands to Gígjökull, an outlet glacier of the infamous Eyjafjallajökull glacier that covers an active volcano. You'll see the aftermath of the volcano's last eruption in 2010 when floods from the melting icecap destroyed the surrounding landscape.

You'll then head back to the South Coast to the magnificent Skógafoss waterfall, considered by many to be the most beautiful cascade in Iceland.

You will then have the option of exploring glacier better with a glacier hike or an ice climb. If you chose to do so during the booking process, you will head to Sólheimajökull glacier, which is riddled with crevasses and ever-changing ice formations, and trek across the white expense or ascend into one of these crevasses.

Next, you'll head out to Dyrhólaey, a small peninsula, or a promontory, of volcanic origin. There, you'll see, standing in the ocean, a gigantic black arch of lava. You'll also get a magnificent panoramic view of Mýrdalsjökull glacier in the north, and the coastline to the west. In the summertime, you can get more familiar with puffins as many of them nest on the cliffs of Dyrhólaey.

From there, you will head for another breathtaking attraction, the black sand beach of Reynisfjara. You'll walk along this extraordinary beach which is covered in black, volcanic sand, and edged in by massive cliffs of basalt columns, with the enormous Reynisdrangar basalt rock stacks rising from the sea. You'll then return to Reykjavík, with memories that will last you a lifetime.
