South Coast and Eyjafjallajökull | Private Super Jeep tour w/Lunch

Experience Iceland’s uniqueness in one-day tour? We recomend the South coast with a short highland excursion to see Gígjökull an outlet Glacier from the famous Eyjafjallajökull volcano that erupted in 2010

We will start by heading along the south coast to the majestic waterfall of Seljalandsfoss situated at the cliffs of the former coastline. From there we take a detour in to the highlands to Gígjökull glacier, Part of eyjafjallajökull glacier. There we will see first hand the devastation left by the floods that followed the floods of 2010 from the melting Icecap during the eruption. Heading back down to the south coast our next stop is Skógarfoss waterfall. By many considered the most beautiful waterfall in Iceland. After sensual and aesthetic feast you'll have an option to face the ice at Sólheimajökull outlet glacier coming down from Mýrdalsjökull Icecap. It is a rugged glacial tongue punctured with crevasses and ever-changing ice formations. Hiking and ice climbing is available for an additional fee.

Next we see Dyrhólaey, small peninsula of volcanic origin. Facing the peninsula is a gigantic black arch of frozen lava. It's also a perfect spot for admiring Mýrdalsjökull glacier in the north and the coastline to the west. In the summertime you can get more familiar with puffins as many of them nest on the cliffs of Dyrhólaey.

From here we will head for another breathtaking attraction, The black sand beach of Reynisfjara. As you walk along one of a most extraordinary beaches in the world covered in black, volcanic sand and basalt rock columns, with a huge cave-like indent facing Atlantic ocean. It is a perfect spot to appreciate volcano’s creative potential. In the east it is embodied in Reynisdrangar, basalt rock needles, jutting upwards from the sea.
