Description

Book this tour of the South Coast to discover Iceland's lowland areas, diverse landscapes farmland, glaciers, a black beach, and striking waterfalls along the coast. This tour lets you sit back and enjoy the scenery while someone else worries about the driving.

This tour is great for those looking for a more personalised experience or those who want to fit a tour into their busy schedule, as this pickup time can be flexible.

You will be picked up in Reykjavík in either a Super Jeep or a minibus, according to your wishes. Then you’ll head on down to the country’s South Coast to see some of Iceland’s most beautiful locations.

This day trip will take you to some of the areas that were most affected by the 2010 eruption of the Eyjafjallajökull volcano where volcanic ash halted all air traffic between North America and Europe. It is an impressive volcano covered with an ice cap of approximately 100 square kilometres. The mountain itself is a stratovolcano 1,651 metres (5,417 ft) tall at its highest point.

On your journey, you will see the beautiful Seljalandsfoss waterfall. A walking path leads around the waterfall, even behind the cascading water. So you’ll be able to see the landscape around through a veil of falling springwater.

Next on your journey is the magnificent Skógafoss waterfall where it is common to see lucky rainbows when the sun is shining. This is one of Iceland’s biggest cascade with a width of 25 metres and a 60-metre drop. According to legend, a treasure is buried in a cave behind the waterfall.

You'll walk and drive on black sand beaches pounded by the Atlantic surf and see the bird cliffs that surround the quaint coastal village of Vík, which are teeming with life in spring and summer when the puffins and other seabirds come to nest.

If the sights are not enough, you can add on a glacier hiking tour or a dogsledding tour during the booking process.

So get your camera ready and book a seat on this exclusive tour. Check availability by choosing a date.
