Book your complete trip with the best companies only
Experience the best of Iceland with this fantastic tour combination where you race across a glacier on a snowmobile and sail the high seas looking for whales. This is the perfect opportunity for those with their own transportation who want to add a spot of adventure to their Icelandic holiday.
After booking this combo, you’ll receive two open tickets, one to a whale watching tour and the other for a snowmobile tour. The open tickets allow you to schedule these activities to best fit your holiday plans, all you have to do is select your preferred tour dates during the booking process and make your way to the meeting point for each tour.
On the snowmobile tour, you’ll meet your guides at Gullfoss waterfall, they will then take you through the Highlands to Langjökull glacier where you’ll race across the white ice on a snowmobile. On the whale watching tour, you depart from Reykjavík’s Old Harbour, setting the sails to Faxaflói Bay where you’ll find a wealth of marine life, from Minke whales and Humpbacks to dolphins and porpoises.
Spice up your Golden Circle and Reykjavík visit with these two fantastic tours. Check availability by choosing a date.
At Langjökull, you will receive all necessary gear, such as warm overalls, helmet and, of course, your snowmobile. After a short introduction on how to operate these vehicles, you’ll mount your ride and head out to the blinding whiteness of the glacier.
The snowmobiles are double-riders and children over the age of seven can ride as passengers. However, if you or your group wish to ride alone, just select the add-on option ‘single rider’ during the booking process for all those wanting to ride alone in your group.
After a thrilling ride on the snowmobile, you’ll hop back on the monster truck and be transported back to Gullfoss waterfall where you can spend the rest of the day sightseeing around the Golden Circle.
On board, you will find several outdoor viewing platforms, perfect for a tour like this. There is also a heated, indoor saloon with an onboard café where you can buy some light refreshments. It is recommended that you dress well, as it can be cold out on the high seas, but you will also find blankets and overalls onboard for the really cold days.
The most common sightings on this tour are Minke whales, Humpbacks, dolphins and porpoises and seeing them in their natural habitat is an experience you will never forget. However, this is wild nature, so sightings cannot be guaranteed, but in the unlikely case you don’t see any animals on your tour, you can come back another day for free.
Please note that this tour combination is 'meet on location', meaning you will have to make your own way to the meeting point for each tour.
