Hop aboard this fantastic minibus tour along Iceland’s scenic South Coast, travelling to the famed DC Plane Wreck in the black sand desert, Sólheimasandur, and visiting many more attractions on the way! This is an amazing tour opportunity for visitors looking to experience a number of different attractions on the South Coast within a single day.

Your day will begin with a pickup from your accommodation in a spacious and comfortable minibus, fitting up to 16 passengers. You will also be introduced to your friendly and experienced guide who will be sure to teach you in-depth about Iceland’s culture, history and nature.

Your first stops of the day will be at the iconic waterfalls, Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss. The former is much narrower, with a shallow cave behind the cascading water which allows for some unique photographic moments. Skógafoss, on the other hand, has a much wider lip and thus creates an ever-present cloud of mist at its base, often forming rainbows in the water vapour.

The next stop you will make is at Reynisfjara black sand beach, known for the iconic Reynisdrangar rock stack, its black volcanic pebbles and the incredible basalt columns that line its cliff faces. Only a short distance away is the coastal village of Vík í Mýrdal, perfect for a bite to eat or even a little souvenir shopping!

Your final stop of the day will be at the wreckage of a Douglas Super DC-3 black sand desert where you will hike on black sand on Sólheimasandur. This plane once belonged to the US Navy, but now sits in possession of the elements, a shining carcass of its former self. This creates for striking photographs, with the glistening silver of the metal standing out against the raw open sky, the dark flat sand beneath.

Hurry and make sure to book your place on this breathtaking minibus tour along Iceland’s South Coast, culminating in a visit to the photogenic DC Plane Wreck in Sólheimasandur black sand desert. Check availability by choosing a date.
