Since this is a private tour, you can decide how long you want to spend in each location. You can ask your guide for recommendations on where else to visit and choose the sights that most interest you.
You’ll drive out of the city to the Seljalandsfoss waterfall. It’s one of the most famous waterfalls in Iceland because there’s a cave behind it that you can visit. Here you can enjoy an incredible view of the waterfall from a different perspective.
Next, you’ll make your way to another waterfall, Skogafoss. Skogafoss is one of the largest waterfalls in Iceland and has a width of more than 80 feet (25 meters). When you’ve made your way down, you’ll get back in the car and drive further east to Reynisfjara beach. This beach is one of the most famous in Iceland, with jet-black sand formed from volcanic rock.
Many films and TV shows have used this beach as a set, including Game of Thrones, Rogue One, and Star Trek. You might recognize the view around you.
The beach is also an excellent place to view the impressive Reynisdrangar sea stacks. Your guide can tell you about their formation as you walk along the black sands and enjoy the vistas.
You can also visit the fishing village of Vik during your tour, as it’s just a short drive from Reynisfjara beach. Vik is the southernmost settlement on mainland Iceland and is very picturesque. You can buy lunch here if you’re hungry before you drive back to Reykjavik.
