Description

Join this tour to go on a glacier hike and see the South Coast of Iceland. This is the perfect tour option for those adventurous travellers looking for a dash of action during their time in Iceland.

Your day will begin with a pick-up from in Reykjavík before being driven past a wealth of gorgeous scenery towards the glacier Sólheimajökull. On your left-hand side, you will pass towering cliff faces and distant mountainscapes, on your right, the rolling blue waves of the Atlantic Ocean.

When you arrive at the foothills of the glacier, you will meet your experienced and knowledgeable guide who will proceed to brief you on the tour ahead, as well as give some information on the ice cap itself.

They will also provide you with all of the necessary hiking equipment, including a helmet and crampons to wear over your hiking boots. When you are kitted up, it's time to take to the ice sheet of Sólheimajökull.

You'll be able to get up close and personal to the majestic ice sculptures and formations on an easy walk over this disappearing giant, and get information on the threat towards it from your experienced guide. You will also be exposed to some truly incredible views of the South Coast.

After the hike, you'll stop by the beautiful Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls on the way back. Seljalandsfoss is famed for visitors being able to walk behind the cascading water, whilst Skógafoss (one of the country's most powerful falls) is said to have buried treasure hidden behind the curtain of water.

When your time at the waterfalls is over, you will make the scenic return journey back to the city.

Admire the ice, in all its different forms, on a thrilling glacier hike and see spectacular waterfalls on this amazingly valued South Coast tour. Check availability by choosing a date.
