Seljalandsfoss - a waterfall on the South Coast of Iceland - has a path through a cavern behind it.

Jump on the back of a four-wheeler and race across the Icelandic nature on this exciting ATV day tour.  On this trip, you'll get to fly through black lava sand fields formed by glacial outbursts from the volcano Katla, as well as visit some of the South Coast's most famous sights. Adrenaline junkies should not let this amazing opportunity pass them by.

After being picked up in Reykjavík, you'll start the tour with a visit to Skógafoss, one of the largest waterfalls in Iceland. The sheer power of this waterfall is a sight to be seen. If you’re up for the challenge, climb the 527 steps to the observation platform and experience this beast from the top down. Not a bad way to get yourself psyched up for your ATV excursion.

After a thorough safety demo, you will mount up your bike and head out on the vast black lava sands, splashing through a few rivers along the way. These bikes eat up the sandy terrain in a rip-roaring ride through this otherworldly landscape. Down at the black beaches, you will stop to take in a fantastic view of Mýrdalsjökull glacier, under which hides the volcano Katla, before continuing to Jökulsá river.

Finally, you will visit one of Iceland’s most haunting sites, the twisted ruins of a US Navy aircraft wreck from 1973 at Sólheimasandur. Luckily no one was hurt in the crash, but the plane’s weather-beaten fuselage was abandoned on the stark black sand, creating a dramatic photography scene.

On your way back home, you’ll make a stop at Seljalandsfoss waterfall. Although Seljalandsfoss is narrower than Skógafoss, what it lacks in size, it makes up for in stunning beauty. One of the best parts of visiting Seljalandsfoss is the little footpath that takes you behind the waterfall for a truly unique perspective. It is the perfect way to wind down after a thrilling day on the bikes.

Don't miss your chance of seeing all of South Iceland's main attractions in a single day. Check availability by choosing a date.
