Description

Embark on a relaxing trip on the South Coast of Iceland and see its most famous attractions, from the Skogafoss waterfall to the Solheimajokull glacier. Those who want a more easygoing Iceland experience with a bonus visit to the geothermal spa at the Sky Lagoon should book this tour now.

The small-group tour begins at Reykjavik, where you will meet your English-speaking guide early morning. A minibus shall either pick you up at Tour Bus Stop #12 or from your chosen location in the capital city for an extra fee. Soon after, you will drive to the scenic region of the South Coast.

You'll be treated to Iceland's stunning landscapes as you traverse the long but smooth route of 97 miles (156 kilometers). From breathtaking coasts and towering mountains, the views will grow increasingly diverse until you arrive at your first stop.

Skogafoss waterfall, with a drop of 60 meters (200 feet), is a massive waterfall in the Nordic country that is famous for its rainbows. You can easily spot a rainbow shooting above the cascading waters on a sunny and clear day.

If you want to experience it best, you may hike to the top or go near the waterfall's base for a photo.

Not far from Skogafoss is the village of Vik, where you will have a quick stop for supplies. Right after, you'll proceed to the coastline of Iceland to see the iconic Reynisfjara beach.

At Reynisfjara black sand beach, you will see the massive Atlantic waves crashing on the volcanic sands, a reason why swimming isn't allowed in this area. However, you will still enjoy the views here, especially the basalt cliff columns near its shoreline.

Legend has it that these sea stacks - called Reynisdrangar - were trolls frozen by the sunlight.

Before returning to the Capital Region for a relaxing geothermal bath, you'll have two more stops at Solheimajokull glacier and Seljalandsfoss waterfall. If the conditions are right, your tour guide will bring you to the icy wilderness of the outlet glacier. If not, you may still enjoy its immense beauty from a very close range.

Meanwhile, much like Skogafoss, the Seljalandsfoss waterfall is a prominent attraction in Iceland. Apart from its clear waters, its best feature is the pathway around its 60 meters (200 feet) cliff. This path allows you to see Seljalandsfoss waterfall from any angle, even from its back, if conditions allow.

After a whole day of exploring the South Coast, your small-group tour will return to the capital region to experience the warm embrace of the Sky Lagoon. The geothermal spa is not as famous as its counterpart Blue Lagoon, so the lesser crowd here will be your advantage.

Moreover, its infinity pool overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, surrounded by lava rocks, is a view you'll never forget. On top of that, the attraction's seven-part ritual spa experience is a fantastic activity after a tiring day of adventure.

After a rejuvenating bathe, you'll return to Reykjavik.

Explore Iceland's most diverse attractions on the South Coast and have a relaxing hot spring bath right after with this small-group combo tour. Check availability now by choosing a date.
