Come along on a tour of the Golden Circle and see the natural wonders of Þingvellir National Park, the golden waterfall of Gullfoss, and Geysir geothermal area. This excursion is perfect for those who wish to discover Iceland's beautiful and active nature with a friendly, local guide.

After being picked up in the morning, you will be whisked away to the first location of the day, Þingvellir National Park. This historic park is located in a tectonic rift valley and marks the boundaries of the Eurasian and North American plates which are moving away from each other.

In 930 AD the Icelandic Parliament, the oldest on-going parliament in the world, was established at Þingvellir. This area was suitable for meetings, due to easy access from around the country, and the echoing from high cliffs which served as a sound boost for the crowd.

Next is the geothermal area of Haukadalur valley. The English word 'geyser' derives from the hot spring Geysir which can be found in this region. Although mostly inactive now, the great Geysir can spout boiling water up 70 metres. However, nearby you can see the geyser Strokkur erupt every 5-10 minutes, making this a perfect place to witness Mother Nature in action.

Gullfoss, the 'Golden Waterfall', is your next destination. It is one of the most beautiful and beloved waterfalls in Iceland and watching it cascading down into an ancient gorge is a sight to remember.

From Gullfoss, you will be driven to the greenhouses at Friðheimar. There, tomatoes are cultivated, using geothermal water for heat and electricity. You'll get to learn all about the geothermal energy from the ground and stop for lunch. The main ingredient is, of course,  the tomatoes grown there.

Before you return to Reykjavík, your guide will make a stop at a secret location, only known by the locals.

So don't wait! Book now and discover the Golden Circle with help from a local. Check availability by choosing a date.
