Come along on a unique biking & dining experience on the outskirts of Reykjavík. Those looking for a mixture of culture and nature in one tour need to look no further.

Located a short drive from downtown Reykjavik,  Húsið í Holtinu ( the house on the hill) is a hidden gem nestled between two beautiful lakes with a magnificent hilltop view over the valley below. Locals have been enjoying the excellent home cooking and relaxing and friendly atmosphere at this charming place for some time now.

This tour is a self-guided fat bike ride for all ability levels which takes you on a gorgeous scenic trip through the protected Lake Hafravatn and Lake Langavatn, and ends with a home-cooked meal at the House on the Hill.

The approximately 2-hour tour begins at Húsið í Holtinu where you will meet your hosts John & Heidi. They will get you all set up on your fat bike and provide you with helmets, water and a map detailing the route you will be taking.

They will also give you a brief overview of the area you will be covering and point out great spots for taking pictures of the amazing scenery or for taking a break along the way. For the more adventurous among you, they will also show you several excellent places where you can take a dip in the lakes or in the beautiful Seljadalsá River.

Upon returning to The House on the Hill, you will be invited to sit back, relax and enjoy a freshly prepared home-cooked meal (including dessert) while soaking up the peaceful ambience of the surrounding nature.  You might even be lucky enough to spot some of the more elusive neighbourhood critters, including foxes, mink, owls, falcons and the enormous Icelandic raven.

Don't miss out on this unique chance to experience the Icelandic nature and culture. Check availability by choosing a date.
