Book to visit the Golden Circle highlights in just one day!

On this small-group tour, we will first visit the famous Golden Circle trio of Thingvellir National Park, Geysir hot springs area and Gullfoss waterfall. You will have a chance to explore their incredibly unique and beautiful landscapes thoroughly. We will then go on to the fantastic Friðheimar farm. Here you can have a fabulous lunch inside a tomato greenhouse or meet an Icelandic horse. Finally, we finish with a stop at The Secret Lagoon, where you can end your day with a relaxing soak in the geothermal waters of Iceland's oldest outdoor pool.

Your friendly local guide will be there every step of the way to help ensure that you have a truly personal and memorable experience!

The first stop is Thingvellir National Park, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here the original Viking settlers created the world's oldest parliament, Althing, in 930 AD. They would meet each year at the Law Rock to decide the issues of the day. The Law Rock also happens to be right in the middle of a spectacular rift valley, which marks the boundary between the tectonic plates of North America and Eurasia continents. Every year this rift grows wider by about 2cm as the continents move away from each other!

Next stop is Geysir geothermal area, where hot springs bubble and the smell of sulphur fills the air. Here you will meet the original Geysir, the hot spring which has given its name to all other erupting hot springs around the world. And just next to Geysir is Strokkur, a very active hot spring that erupts every 5 to 10 minutes, sending spouts of hot steam as high as 40 meters (130 ft)!

We complete the Golden Circle triad at Gullfoss waterfall; consistently rated as one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world. Here you will see Iceland's answer to Niagara Falls, where glacial melt-water thunders over the volcanic rock into a deep, narrow gorge below. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for the spectacular rainbows that often appear in the mist overhead when the sun is shining!

After experiencing the incredible beauty and power of the Golden Circle, you are bound to have worked up an appetite! There is a fabulous restaurant at Friðheimar farm. Every single item on the menu uses their famous greenhouse tomatoes in some way or another. Don't worry if tomatoes are not your thing as you can choose a packed lunch. If you like, you can also visit the gorgeous Icelandic horses that are bred and raised on the farm.

Finally, we end the day in the most Icelandic way possible, with a deeply relaxing soak in a natural geothermal outdoor pool! Set in an area of bubbling hot springs, the Secret Lagoon is a one-of-a-kind location to take a dip. Created in 1891; the lagoon recently underwent renovations, but it still maintains its original rustic charm.
