Join us to one of Iceland's most wild and beautiful regions; Þórsmörk Valley, located in the southern highlands. This is the perfect tour opportunity for those travellers looking to experience Iceland's most hidden and inaccessible spots.

Hidden between mountains and glaciers, Þórsmörk has been preserved and unspoiled for centuries. The valley is named after the Norse God of Thunder, Thor; the landscape more than meets the drama required for such a label, encompassing a variety of steep mountain slopes, frozen glacier tongues, roaring rivers, volcanic plateaus, lush hillsides and dark, cragged caves. It is as if the Gods had sculpted this place themselves.

Now you have the chance to experience this natural oasis, only accessible in the summer months, and only to specifically designed vehicles; aka; the Super-Jeep. This is due to the area's difficult terrain and numerous river crossings. The area is especially popular amongst nature enthusiasts, landscape photographers and intrepid hikers.

Before diving into the green heart of Þórsmörk, your super-jeep will first be making a stop at the iconic waterfall, Seljandsfoss, one of the treasures of Iceland's South Coast. Seljandsfoss is a rare example of a waterfall in Iceland where it is possible to walk directly behind the cascading water, providing an entirely new perspective on this amazing natural feature.

The next stop on your adventure is the everchanging glacier tongue, Gígjökull, originating from the infamous Eyjafjallajökull volcano. Observers of current affairs will recognise this volcano as the one which erupted in 2010, severely disrupting air travel across mainland Europe. Whilst in the Þórsmörk region, you will also visit a large, natural gorge where it is possible to actually enter the mountainside.

So what's the delay? Don't miss out on all of the attractions in Þórsmörk, the incredible valley of Thor, as well as those along the gorgeous South Coast. Check availability by choosing a date.

Trip was amazing! It's personalized and fitted to your needs so it's definetely worth the extra money you pay as opposed to being in a bus tour. Guide/driver was extremely informative and funny. Highly recommend!

We were group of 9 in 12 seat big jeep. The ride was amazingly comfortable and I enjoyed the trip til the very end. When we arrived at Seljalandsfoss, supposedly second stop for us, the guide decided it was too crowded so we kept going and came back in the afternoon when there was not many people. The trip was flexible like this all day and it was really nice to be able to ask questions because it was such small group. Thorsmork was truely amazing place but the other location were also wonderful! In addition to the famous Seljalandsfoss waterfall, we went to a hidden waterfall along a very small river. I really enjoyed this small group guided tour and highly recommend to anyone!

The trip was amazing, it was just four of us including the guide. The guide was full of a wealth of knowledge abut all the places we visited as well in answering questions we had in general about Iceland. I'd definitely come back and book again with this company.
