You will be picked up from Reykjavík City in the afternoon to start your journey into the wilderness, where you will first head off towards the direction of Langjökull Glacier, Iceland's second largest ice cap. You start by driving the Golden Circle route, past Þingvellir National Park, the geothermal area of Geysir and the grand waterfall Gullfoss.

Once past Gullfoss, your drive continues further into the Icelandic Highlands, before finally reaching Langjökull Glacier and the mountain base camp. There, you will put on some warm overalls, helmets, gloves, balaclavas and waterproof shoe covers.
