Quad Buggy Tour & Whale Watching

Quad Buggy Tour & Whale Watching
Humpback whales often breach at the surface or slap their tails and fins.
There will be two people per buggy for this tour in Iceland, unless you elect otherwise in booking.
The smaller cetaceans seen on whale watching tours in Iceland are mainly harbour porpoises and white-beaked dolphins.

Harbour Porpoises are elusive creatures, but regularly spotted by those with keen eyes.
Minke Whales are not usually very acrobatic, but the joy of a whale watching tour is that you never know what nature will do next.

Combine two great excursions for a fun-filled day in Iceland, where you'll venture on an outing on a quad bike before joining a tour from Reykjavík's Old Harbour in search of whales. If you want two amazing holiday experiences in one, this is the combo for you.

Your day starts with a pickup from Reykjavík, from where you'll be brought to the ATV base camp. There, you will meet up with your guide for instructions and a safety briefing. No experience is necessary for this tour; the guides will make sure you have a safe and fun time. Please note, however, that a driving license is required to operate a quad bike. Non-drivers and kids are however welcome as passengers.

You will drive off-road on a variety of terrain on the way to Úlfarsfell mountain. The ride to the top is a chance to experience the exhilaration of ATVs, and when you get there, you’ll be rewarded by a fantastic view across the whole city, the ocean, and the surrounding mountains.

After the quad bike adventure, you will be driven back to Reykjavík in good time for the whale watching component of the tour. First, you’ll board a 'floating museum' located on a permanently marooned boat in the harbour. There, you will find interesting facts about the marine life around Iceland which you can enjoy until the tour departs.

The whale watching will take around 3 hours, and on the tour, your guide will tell you about the whales and dolphins you can expect to see as well as your beautiful surroundings. Keep your eyes on the water for the spray from a blowhole, and to the sky to see some beautiful seabirds. From May to September, you are also highly likely to see puffins.

If your whale watch is unsuccessful, you will be permitted on another one without charge. Whale watching in Iceland boasts a success rate higher than 90% though, so you are all but guaranteed some fantastic sightings on your trip.

Come and see the geothermal wonders of Iceland on a quad bike tour and then sail across Faxaflói bay in search of whales. Check availability by choosing a date.
