Venture the clear waters of Silfra fissure and dive between two continents before heading out to the deep blue seas in search of whales and wildlife in Faxaflói bay. If you want to have two essential Icelandic experiences on the same day, this is the tour combo for you.
Your journey commences at your designated pickup place in Reykjavík where a shuttle bus collects you for the first leg of your adventure. Within an hour's time, you will be at Þingvellir National Park, ready to gear up for the transparent waters of Silfra. The dive is undertaken in a dry suit and the water will be cold, so make sure to dress in warm thermals underneath.
After a quick but thorough briefing, you will start your descent underneath the water’s surface to explore the otherworldly scenery below. Silfra is known as one of the top dive sites in the world, and diving in such a magical place is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Nothing can quite prepare you for the view from beneath the water. Colourful corals, unmatched rock formations, dancing vines and white sand all appear before you, amidst a crystal clear visibility of a water pure enough to gulp down.
Once two dives are completed, you will be driven back to Reykjavík’s Old Harbour for your next adventure of the day. Search for the cetacean of Faxaflói bay, explore the bay’s surrounding areas and learn about the places and landscapes on the horizon.
For approximately three hours, you will search for whales in the open seas, but whale watching in Iceland boasts a success rate surpassing 90%. Orcas, fin whales, dolphins, blue whales and sperm whales are all likely candidates to appear, so pull out your camera and get ready for a close encounter with these magnificent and intelligent creatures.
After you return to shore early in the evening, you can continue exploring the downtown or catch your ride back to your accommodation to enjoy the rest of your night.
Don't miss out on this fantastic Icelandic water combo of diving between two continents before meeting the whales of Faxaflói bay. Check availability by choosing a date.
