Join this unmatched excursion of whale watching and Reykjavík sightseeing. This tour is perfect for those who want to immerse themselves in Icelandic nature and culture without going far from the city.

You will start the day with the whale-watching component. A shuttle bus will escort you to the Old Harbour of the capital, where a boat is waiting for you. This vessel has several outdoor viewing platforms, a heated indoor area, and a cafeteria. You can borrow warm overalls if need be, and there will be several staff members who can answer your questions.

One of these will tell you all about your surroundings as you travel out into Faxaflói Bay. In clear weather, you'll see both the Reykjanes and Snæfellsnes Peninsulas, Mount Esjan and the fjord Hvalfjörður. They will also be watching for whales and dolphins, and tell you about each species that you encounter.

You are most likely to see Minke Whales and White-Beaked Dolphins, but have a decent chance of also seeing Humpbacks and Harbour Porpoises, amongst many other species. Whale-watchers between May and September also have a great shot at spotting puffins bobbing on the surface.

If you do not see any whales, you will be able to take the tour again for free until you do.

After returning to the harbour, you will jump onto the sightseeing component of this excursion. Reykjavík is a stunning, fascinating cultural capital, with a wealth of street art, historical sites, and architecture.

Over three hours, you'll learn all about destinations such as Hallgrímskirkja Church, Perlan, Harpa Concert Hall and Höfði House. You'll also be able to appreciate the city's colourful houses, many sculptures, and beautiful surrounding nature.

This tour should be on the must-do list of anyone thirsting for in-depth knowledge about Reykjavík City and Iceland's wildlife. Don't let it pass you by. Check availability by choosing a date.
