The tour is super well organized, lots of information is provided for you to take the most advantage of it, the hotels were great, they all offered amazing breakfast, also all of them had a restaurant and most of them offered great food. A 4x4 is a most and specially during winter. Our agent was super helpful and patient. Because of bad weather all of our tours were cancelled and Guide to Iceland refunded us with no problem and helped us booked new tours when the weather permitted. I feel the itinerary is a bit ambitious specially in winter when driving times are longer due to weather, the roads are with ice and the daylight is shorter, so my advice is be prepared with the list of things you really want to see so you can prioritize them, the last day is a lot of driving because you are coming back from Hofn to Reykjavik, so be prepared for that. Something that helped us a lot to get familiarized with the itinerary was to create Google Maps using MyMaps for each day so we can get the route and the exact coordinates of the places we were going to visit even though at the end we could not see them all. Try to familiarize yourself with the websites that give you information about the roads and the weather, they will become your main tool when driving in Iceland because the weather can change rapidly (http://www.road.is/, http://en.vedur.is/, http://safetravel.is/), we were caught in a Wind Storm in the South and South East area and the wind and wind gust were incredible strong, some roads were closed some times and driving through that was a bit stressful, so just be ready in case it happens. Iceland is amazing beautiful country, the trip is totally worth it so I totally recommend it and booking through Guide to Iceland will make your life easier.

My family and I had the trip of our lives with Guide to Iceland! The 10 day Ring Road Tour was unbelievable, and the support that Gustav gave us booking the trip was phenomenal! We saw a whole pod of whales in Akureyri and I would absolutely recommend the " Inside the Volcano" tour. The Blue Lagoon, was a perfect way to jet lag from the plane. This trip is a must do for your bucket list!

I did the 8 day self drive tour solo in October with the budget 2wd option. As I had an extra day either side Guide to Iceland organised for me to have the same rental car for the two extra days with the pick up and drop off from the airport. They also offered to arrange the extra nights accommodation aswell but I had already arranged my own. Everything was amazing, all of the accommodation was great. Make sure you pop into the office in Reykjavik when you arrive to grab your welcome pack and to ask any last bits of advice like places to stop and eat driving between destinations. The staff there were super lovely and even printed a few suggested routes for different days off for me. I only did the one activity tour, the amphibious glacier boat tour and it was a definite highlight of the trip! Another highlight was the Mývatn Nature Baths (much nicer than the Blue Lagoon) which I definitely recommend putting aside at least two hours for when in the area. The only thing I would suggest doing a bit different is splitting the golden circle and the drive from Reykjavik to Vík into two separate days as with the limited amount of daylight (in early Oct) there simply wasn't enough time to fit everything in and it was already getting dark by the time I reached Seljalandsfoss. Which was another highlight of my trip and as a little tip if you plan on going right up behind it make sure to pop on some waterproof outer layers (including pants) as you will get absolutely drenched but it's worth it! So if you have time plan an extra day before or after to do the golden circle on it's own. All in all a wonderful experience and I can't wait to come back!

Overall, great family time vacation! Highly recommended. We did the 6 day self drive tour and chose the quality accommodations so we had certain expectations for the lodging. Guide to Iceland really made things easy with the suggested itinerary and activities. My 20 yr and 17 yr old sons enjoyed all the activities. The itinerary combined the right amout of activities and suggestions if you wanted more sites to visit. The hotel quality overall was fine and it was convenient to have breakfasts included, especially as some of the hotels are pretty remote so you would have to drive a distance for breakfast otherwise. When we had an issue with one of the activities, they addressed the problem right away and issued us a partial refund within a day. Our service agent, Johnathan, was always prompt in answering questions and helping us make some last minute scheduling changes. My one gripe was with only one hotel for one night - the Fosshotel Nupar. We chose the highest comfort level for all our hotels and this one was truly subpar. It was very new in fact there was serious construction going on during our brief stay. The room was very clean. Accomodations were basic at best, a stool served as a nightstand and our large glass door to the outside didn't lock. The staff appeared overwhelmed at dinner and even more so at the self-serve buffet breakfast. The whole experience there was a bit "off." But, other than that one hiccup, I highly recommend this group.

We had an epic 17 days in iceland, travelling from Australia we wanted to really explore this place. Guide to Iceland helped plan and organise for us as a self drive tour during our whole stay which also included tours that we wanted to do as well. Communication was excellent right from the beginning and my husband and I were able to shape our trip and customize for particular things we wanted to see as well as excellent suggestions from Guide to Iceland. I must say that Unnar Helga our contact was amazing and very helpful both during the planning and whilst we were doing our trip. The accommodation provided for us was fantastic (albeit two locations but this is minor and doesn't detract from the rating). Driving around was super easy (although would have been better had the GPS maps been updated) and we came well prepared ensuring we knew the roads we could or could not take. Doing the self drive is really the way to go, the road conditions are fine if you ensure you follow the road advice that is easily accessed via the web as well as the friendly staff at the hotels. Just chat to them and they will give some great advice. The ability to drive yourself enables you to avoid the large crowds but also get off the beaten track and really explore at your own pace. Having everything organised via Guide to Iceland was really great as well and I didn't have to spend hours on research and dealing with many different bookings it was all taken care off. Thanks Guide to Iceland and Unnar Helga we had a wonderful time and will cherish this trip and the memories we have taken away.

An incredibly well organized tour! All of the accommodations and transportation issues were taken care of by Guide to Iceland. A detailed itinerary provided ample things to do and see each day and listed everything in order! Each day on the itinerary had the voucher for both the accommodations as well as any pre-paid activities such as glacier hiking or snorkeling in Silfra. Multiple things to see and do are listed each day so that if you are not able to participate one day, you could pick it up the next. The amount of time dedicated to each activity or site was sufficient to be able to see and do and enjoy. The country itself is outstanding! So much beautiful terrain and the ability to find your way around is very straight-forward. The roads are in very good shape and everything is navigable by rental car. Lagoon Car Rental was courteous and convenient. Garmin GPS helped tremendously! The accommodations (comfort level) were very nice. Always impressed with the lodging and hospitality. Breakfasts were always included and was enough food to start the day off right and be able to make it through to either a late lunch or early dinner. Six days was a proper amount of time to get a good sample of the country and the geology. Would certainly recommend Guide to Iceland to other travelers. Definitely sign up for hiking the glacier and snorkeling in Silfra!

This was one of the best experiences in my life. We did so much in 5 days and I can't believe how beautiful this country is. Everything worked out perfectly and I highly recommend Guide to Iceland for their help with planning and for all of the information that they provided to us, which made everything so easy. I plan to return to Iceland for a longer trip in the future!

This was an amazing trip, all of the details and accommodations worked out perfectly and allowed us to focus on enjoying the incredible sights and natural wonders of Iceland! We did the 5 day self driving tour and saw so much but only scratched the surface of this beautiful country. All of the plans arranged by Guide to Iceland worked perfectly from the car pick up at the airport to each hotel that we stayed in and our pre booked activities, the people were welcoming and ready for us and each exceeded our expectations. Iceland is a great destination with the beautiful falls everywhere to the unforgettable hike on a glacier and the lively downtown of Reykjavik. We will definitely be back and Guide to Iceland will be our first call!

Wonderful! The tour was great. Everything was very well organized and we loved all the activities, the hiking and the food. Our accommodation was great on the whole and as we had chosen the budget package it surpassed expectations. My two boys said it was the best vacation ever. Never a dull moment.

The 10-day self drive tour was fantastic! Our agent Melkorka listened to our requests and made sure to include everything in our itinerary, finding us wonderful places to stay each night. The country is absolutely beautiful with breathtaking views and landscapes, and the tour and activities that Guide To Iceland put together for us just made it even more fantastic. We were given a suggested itinerary with the option to do whatever we wanted, provided we made it to our accommodations for the night. Having that flexibility, but also recommendations on what to do along the way, was a great way to see the country and experience it at our own pace. Absolutely fantastic. I've been all over the world and this was the most serene, beautiful, untouched scenic place I've ever visited. We upgraded to 4WD and were able to get to very remote, somewhat off-road must-see locations and it was well worth it. Guide to Iceland booked us fantastic locations, great excursions, and a well laid out plan for our self drive which we absolutely loved. Highly recommend Guide to Iceland and visiting Iceland (do the self drive!).
