Today, Friday, at 20:00, the Icelandic Youth Orchestra and The University Choir, where I sing 1st bass, will have a joint concert in Reykholt in Borgarfjordur. The Youth Orchestra will perform two pieces separately, Violin Concerto in E Minor by Felix Mendehlson and Symphony No. 9 in E Minor, also known as the New World Symphony, by Antonín DvoÅák. Our joint performance , with which we‘ll start the concert, is Mansöngur fyrir Ólafsrímu Grænlendings, by one of Iceland‘s major composers, Jórunn Viðar, my grandmother.
Our second concert will be the day after, at 17:00 in Langholstkirkja church in Reykjavík.
The ticket price for the Friday concert is 2000 ISK and on Saturday ithe general price is 3500, but for students, the elderly and the disabled it‘s 3500.
