I have written about my visits to a couple of seasonal ice caves in Iceland, which form in the winter time, but did you know that there is an ice cave which is open all year round? It is called the Katla ice cave, located in South-Iceland, in the Kötlujökull glacier, a ruggedly beautiful icefall of Mýrdalsjökull glacier, Iceland's fourth largest glacier.  Here we are in the territory of the most dreaded volcano in Iceland - the subglacial Katla itself!
