Services at the Volcano Huts
Accommodation: Volcano Huts offer accommodation in luxury glamping tents, small cottages, private bedrooms, dormitories and camping grounds surrounded by unique volcanic nature
Restaurant: The LavaGrill is the heart of the Volcano Huts and offers rich and hearty meals, made from local Icelandic ingredients. We offer breakfast, lunch and dinner, homemade cakes and coffee. We can also send you off with a packed lunch or a picnic basket. The bar offers a selection of local beers and other drinks.
Things to do: Most people come for the endless hiking trails in and around Thorsmork, while others come for a short stop and a meal at the LavaGrill. Yoga sessions and massage therapies are offered by at the Volcano Huts and access to the natural warm pool and sauna is included in the accommodation. We have a small playground for the youngest generation so everyone should find something to do.
Hiking trails: Some people choose to go on shorter walks and return to Volcano Huts in the afternoon, while others may venture deeper into the mountains on their way along the Laugavegur hiking trail, which connects Thorsmörk and the Landmannalaugar area.
How to get here: The best way to get here is by bus, as you will have to cross big rivers on the way. You can take the bus all the way from Reykjavik or leave your car and hop onboard the bus at various stops along the way. Further information on how to get here is available on our website.
