The Nordic House in Reykjavík is a cultural institution run by the Nordic Council of Ministers that opened in 1968.
The Nordic House aims to foster and strengthen cultural links between Iceland and the other Nordic countries.
From the beginning, the Nordic House has gained a unique position in Icelandic cultural life, often by initiating and organising a variety of cultural events and exhibitions.
In the Nordic House, there is also a unique collection of books, which lends literature exclusively to Nordic languages, catalogues with Nordic design, exhibition hall, concerts/lectures/film hall and the restaurant Aalto Bistro.
