The Icelandic Summer

By the time Iceland reaches the deepest depth of winter (i.e. experiencing blistering cold winds and coated in a mixture of snow and rain), Icelanders begin to yearn for summer and the oh-so-neglectful sun. Summer "officially" begins in Iceland on the first Thursday after 18th April, although the days (even months) which follow aren't particularly summer-esque. During these months of summer, Icelanders are on the constant lookout for warmth and sunshine.
