Bastard Brew & Food is a great place to go if you’re hungry for food and thirsty for beer. The menu consists of classic comfort food such as burgers, tacos, and flatbreads, but done in a fun and inventive style. Bastard brews its own beer, which comes highly recommended, as well as having over a dozen beers on draft. The interior gives a fun and quirky atmosphere, with funky versions of classical paintings on the wall and plenty of silly drinking humor on display. It’s a good place to lay back casually and enjoy an evening of good food, tasty beer, and fun banter.

Bastard is also one of the best places in Reykjavik to sit down with a beer and a light meal outside on a sunny day. There is plenty of seating outside, both in front of the bar by the street, as well as at the outside smoking area. We guarantee no one leaves Bastard Brew and Food with an empty stomach, as the portions are generous and prices are nice (for central Reykjavik standard).

Every Saturday and Sunday from 12 PM to 4 PM, there is a bottomless brunch at Bastard, if you really need to fill up the tank. You can choose as many courses from the menu as you like and try out various small courses for a true adventure for the senses. This includes brunch classics like pancakes with bacon and egg shakshuka, or go for something different like the bao burger or pulled duck on waffle.

Happy hour is every day from 3 PM to 6 PM, giving you a chance to either try out the many beers available on draft or for a delicious cocktail. Darts is a popular pastime at Bastard, and you can play as much as you like, either by yourself or make friends at the bar and challenge them to a match for the ages!
