Lost In Iceland

Remarquable excursion. Étonnantes grottes avec toutes sortes d'éléments volcaniques à voir. Il faut en profiter maintenant parce que certains tunnels s'obstruent avec le temps, raccourcissant ainsi la visite. La guide nous a donné de nombreuses explications judicieuses et l'a fait dans ... notre langue !

Loved our tour of the cave. It was just us and the tour guide but we had a phenomenal time. Very sweet and knowledgeable.

We really enjoyed this tour. It was just us and one other couple and Rut did a great job of making us feel safe while still keeping it adventurous and interesting. She seemed really well informed about the caves history and contents. We especially liked that she gave us the choice of continuing through the narrower parts of the tube or not. We chose to do it and I would say it was definitely worth it although we did all work up a bit of a sweat by the end. Would definitely book through this company again!

This is a great 3km hike a gives you a chance to see scenery outside of Reykjavik. The area is open fields and valleys with slow elevation, and plenty of places on the path to stop and catch your breath, especially at the beginning. It rained off and on, so I was glad I wore hiking shoes and raincoat. The weather can catch you off guard too; it was cold enough to wear my knit hat (in June). I carried a swimsuit and towel in a tote bag and wished I’d brought a small backpack on vacation. I’m not sure how long we were walking; Morgan, our guide, let us stop a lot when I was getting tired, and she was there to take pictures of us near the scenic waterfalls and boiling springs. The hot springs at the end of the hike is the ‘ahhh’ moment. The path is a valley of colorful green and yellow mossy plants, lots of sheep, and then the creek. There are a couple of partitions on the short boardwalk in which to fling your clothes over; my husband had a towel curtained around me so I could change. The water is warm, warmer, warmest, depending on where you sit in the creek. There is nothing but silt and a few rocks there and it’s not deep. The guide lets you stay as long as you want. After that, the same hiking path back becomes easier. There are bathrooms at the bottom near the parking lot.
