Unbekannter Schatz an der Ringstraße
Zugegeben ist die Ringstraße im Teil hinter Borgarnes zunächst mal für den landschaftsverwöhnten Touristen etwas langweilig: keine spektakulären Wasserfälle wie an der Südküste, keine Gletscher an der Seite, keine Küstenlinie zu sehen. Für ein ziemliches langes Stück scheint es im Westen und vor Erreichen des Nordens bei Hvammstangi kein richtiges Highlight zu geben - doch halt! Etwas versteckt sich da, gleich an der Ringstraße: der Krater Grábrók. Nicht, dass ihr mich jetzt falsch versteht. Im Westen gibt es ganz wundervolle Sehenswürdigkeiten und Highlights, z.B. natürlich auf der Halbi

Die Halbinsel Snaefellsnes ist für mich immer noch ein verstecktes Juwel mit atemberaubender Natur und noch wenig touristischen Hauptattraktionen. Zwar verschlägt es Reisende immer häufiger auch in Bustouren hierhin, mit der Südküste oder dem Goldenen Kreis ist es aber wirklich nicht zu vergleichen ;-) An einem schönen Frühlingssonntag wurde ich von meinem sportbegeisterten Freund von einem Abenteuer überzeugt: einem Ausflug auf den Snaefellsjökull.
