Review of Unforgettable 8-Day Northern Lights Winter Package of Iceland with Ice Caving & National Parks

I booked the Unforgettable 8-Day Northern Lights Winter Package, including the premium package at the Blue Lagoon, Ice Caving, Lava Caving and snorkeling in Silfra. For my last day, I chose the free day in Reykjavik, although I additionally booked the Excellent 2.5 Hour Horse Riding Tour of the Volcanic Raudholar Countryside, which I highly recommend. Still, you should schedule some time to visit the beautiful city center of Reykjavik. In general, people in Iceland are kinder and more welcoming than anywhere else I have travelled so far. Also, I travelled alone, but never really felt that way, because everybody was so friendly and I met many great people on the tours. Iceland is also a very safe country for a woman to travel alone. My tour started with a three hour stay at the Blue Lagoon right after landing, which is really nice in order to relax after an exhausting flight. The milky blue, warm water, the masks and the sauna were exactly what I needed after the flight. At night, I had a Northern Lights Tour booked, which was rescheduled due to cloudy weather. The tour took place on another night, where I could actually enjoy the magical view of the northern lights. The rest of the tour basically consists of a few bus tours, that Guide to Iceland books for you with other companies. I had two two-day trips with Nice Travel where I explored the south coast and the west coast, a one day trip with Arctic Adventures, where I went snorkeling in Silfra and visited the Golden Circle, a Northern Lights Tour with David the Guide and an additional Horse Riding Tour with Sólhestar. During the tours, you get to see the beautiful landscape of Iceland, with some magnificent waterfalls, mountains covered in snow, cliffs, beaches including the stunning diamond beach, the beautiful glacier lagoon, an ice cave with clear blue ice situated in a glacier, a lava cave with a really funny guide, the vibrant underwater colours of the silfra fissure (which I recommend eventhough my dry suit was one of the few ones what did not stay dry in 4°C cold water) and lava fields. I also really enjoyed riding an icelandic horse through volcanic scenery - you don't need riding skills in order to participate. Throughout the tours, all the guides were really kind, informative, relaxed and most were also humorous. I learned a lot about Iceland, its history and myths, volcanoes and northern lights. I can only recommend this tour to everyone, who wants to enjoy the stunning landscape of Iceland. I honestly fell in love with the country and did not want to leave, after this tour. Thank you for the organisation of this great tour, I will most certainly return! :) Greetings Sarah
