The Golden Circle & Blue Lagoon | Small Group Day Tour of the Famous Sites

Discover the pure power of Mother Earth as you explore areas of untouched nature, tectonic shifts and geothermal activity in this tour of Iceland’s most popular attractions. This tour is essential for the country's visitors as it includes Iceland’s best-known natural phenomena; Geysir geothermal area, Gullfoss waterfall, Þingvellir national park and the world famous Blue Lagoon.  The geothermal area of Haukadalur valley is the home of the Geysir hot spring. Although Geysir itself is hardly active anymore, the area features other spectacular hot springs, such as Strokkur. Bring a camera because Strokkur hot spring spouts columns of water 15-20 metres up in the air every 10 minutes or so, giving you numerous opportunities to take great photos.  Geysir area is one part of the Golden Circle, a trio of scenic areas in southern Iceland which include Gullfoss waterfall and Þingvellir national park. On your tour of the south, you will also visit a volcanic crater called Kerið. The second part of the Golden Circle is the incredible waterfall, Gullfoss. The waterfall is located in the canyon of the river Hvítá which runs from the glacier Langjökull. Gullfoss waterfall is breathtakingly beautiful as it cascades in two steps down into a 32-metre crevice. If the conditions allow, you'll be able to stand close enough to feel the water spraying gently on your face. Þingvellir national park is not only an incredibly beautiful area, it is also historically significant and geographically unique. The national park is where the Vikings founded Iceland’s parliament, Alþingi, in the year 930, the oldest still working parliament in the world. Þingvellir is also a place where the continental drift between two tectonic plates is happening. You can clearly see evidence of this in the cracks and gorges in the region.  Last on your tour before you head your way west again is Kerið, a volcanic crater with a lake in the middle. At approximately 6500 years old, Kerið is more than 55 metres deep, 170 metres wide and 270 metres across. Kerið is comprised of red volcanic rocks, green moss grows on its sides, and the lake in the middle is filled with minerals which give the water a vivid aquamarine colour. This offers a great contrast of colours and a highly impressive scenery. You will end the day at the Blue Lagoon, arriving there in the early afternoon for a relaxing time in the amazing hot geothermal waters. You will spend 2 hours in total at the Blue Lagoon before heading back to Reykjavík, just remember to book your voucher beforehand.   Bring a camera, pack your swimsuit and don’t miss out on seeing the pearls of Iceland on this day tour of the most famous sites. Horseback Riding & Whale Watching from Reykjavik

Enjoy unique opportunities meeting the Icelandic wildlife by booking this combination of horseback riding and whale watching. This tour should not be missed by any looking to fill their days in Iceland with beautiful animals and adventure. You will start the day with a pick-up in Reykjavík; a friendly guide will drive you from the capital to the hot-spring town of Hveragerði, approximately forty minutes away. Here, you will find the stables, meet your guides, and gear up. Icelandic horses are wonderful creatures to befriend and ride. They are unique from other breeds as they have had over a thousand years of evolutionary isolation, making them smaller, sturdier, friendlier, more intelligent and more curious than other breeds. For up to two hours you will enjoy their company as they ride you through incredibly serene surroundings. You will witness lava fields and scenic meadows, with views of the sea and the mountains, and, if conditions allow, you will cross the river Varmá. Following your horseback ride, you will have lunch at the stables before being driven back to Reykjavík, to the Old Harbour. Here, you will board the waiting vessel, which has a large, indoor saloon, several outdoor viewing platforms, a cafe at which you can buy refreshments, and educational exhibits. You will then set out into the beautiful Faxaflói Bay, an expanse of water surrounded by dramatic features, such as the Reykjanes Peninsula and Mount Esjan, and bountiful with life. The most frequently seen species here are White-Beaked Dolphins, Minke Whales and Harbour Porpoises, as well as Humpbacks in the summer. Over twenty different species frequent the area, however, so no two tours are the same. A wealth of birdlife is also seen, which in summer includes puffins; you might spot a seal, or, on rare occasions, maybe even a basking shark or soaring eagle. You will search for these beautiful animals for approximately three hours, as guides tell you about each species and the surrounding nature. If in the unlikely event you don't see a whale, dolphin or porpoise, you will be able to take another tour for free until you do. Don’t miss out on this adventurous day with Iceland’s most beloved animals. Check availability by choosing a date.

Golden Circle Day Tour with Raudholar Red Hills

Embark on a journey of the Golden Circle where you'll see the rugged lava fields of the Þingvellir National Park, the spellbinding sight of Gullfoss waterfall, and the erupting hot springs at Geysir geothermal area on this fun-filled tour. Not only will you see these famous attractions, but you'll also stop at the red hills of Rauðhólar. A personal guide and driver will pick you up in Reykjavík, in a comfortable 4WD jeep, and take you to your first attraction, Þingvellir National Park. In 2004, UNESCO designated it as a World Heritage region, as it is here Iceland's parliament, Alþingi, was established in 930 AD. Þingvellir is also located in a rift valley, between two continental plates. The park is surrounded by moss-covered lava field and sits on the banks of Iceland's largest lake, Þingvallavatn. As your journey continues, you will be taken through the countryside to the stunning Gullfoss waterfall. Witness the powers of Mother Nature as you watch glacial water tumble down 32-metes into a rugged canyon. Gullfoss means 'Golden Waterfall'. It is indeed an enthralling sight! Your final stop on the Golden Circle route is at the Geysir region. Here you will come across many bubbling hot springs and mud pools, but the most exciting sight is the geyser Strokkur that spouts a vast quantity of water into the air every 5-10 minutes. Before you return to Reykjavík, you'll stop at Rauðhólar red hills, which are the remnants of a collection of pseudocraters located in the lava field of Elliðaárhraun. Iceland presents the only area that you can experience this marvel in the world as the only region you can come across something similar is in Athabasca Valles of Mars. So don't hesitate! Book now to secure your spot on this exciting tour. Check availability by choosing a date.

Minibus tour | Golden Circle & Kerid Volcanic Crater

Golden Circle is a classic sightseeing tour that takes you to the most famous places in Iceland like Geysir and Gullfoss. This tour is for people who would like to spend a day full of excitement, extraordinary discoveries and learn a lot about our beautiful country.  After picking you up from your accommodation or nearest bus stop we will start our tale about the country, people, habits, culture and many other interesting facts. While relaxing in a comfortable seat and admiring the view from the window, we will drive over an active volcano - Hengill. You will notice many spots of steam rising into the sky and a powerful geothermal plant. The road goes through old lava fields covered by moss in summer and buried under snow in the winter. Our first stop will be in Hveragerði where you can buy coffee and Icelandic pastries in a local bakery. You can also visit the museum of the earthquake from 2008  in the same building. They even have an earthquake simulator for the brave ones! Well caffeinated, shaken and full on sugar we will then set off to continue our tour. After a short drive, we will pull off to the parking next to Kerið, which is a volcanic crater filled with water. You can easily walk around it or even go down to the bottom of the crater and touch the surface of the small lake.  Then, we're off to Geysir Geothermal area. The geyser Strokkur erupts every 10 minutes, sending massive amounts of water into the air. It is a very unique and remarkable experience. You could also enjoy a stroll in the area admiring the many hot springs and ponds with steaming water.  Before we arrive at Gulffoss, a turning point for the trip, we will stop at the farm where you can pet and feed cute Icelandic horses.  At Gullfoss, you will have a chance to have lunch and buy some souvenirs. But of course, the main attraction is the waterfall itself. Big, loud, wet and spectacular. You can admire the view from 2 places: the viewing platform or you can go to the lower parking and almost shake hands with the waterfall. After lunch, we will have some ground to cover. Our next stop will be Þingvellir National Park and Lake Þingvellir, which is the house of many attractions, such as the Silfra fissure, the gap between continents, Öxarárfoss waterfall and many historical and cultural stories as this was the first parliament in Europe. After our last stop, we will head back to the city and drop you off to your accommodation or nearest bus stop so you can enjoy the rest of the day. Come to explore Iceland's famous sites and hidden gems with us. Book your tour with us today.
