Circle Car Rental

A slight negative experience during arrival was made up 10 times by a great experience with the car and customer service during departure. To explain, we were supposed to be picked up from the airport in a shuttle. We waited per emailed instructions for a person with a sign who would look for us and pick us up. My elderly mother-in-law wasn't doing well and we were all looking forward to getting to our overnight accommodation only 10 minutes from the car rental. We asked three times at the information desk who assured us they'd come with a a sign for Lava/Circle Car rental every 20 minutes. After 30 minutes, I called them (international call charges on my cell) and the person at the car rental place was surprised. He told us it would take 10 minutes to pick us up. He called back to let me know he could only take 4 of the 6 of us and 2 had to wait another 20 minutes at the airport. Since we were listed as drivers and could not leave our kids alone at the airport my in-laws stayed behind at the airport. He didn't bother to help my elderly in-laws with storing their luggage in the car either. Anyways, the car we rented ran great. We had figured out eventually how to add the sixth seat in the trunk. No trouble at all driving the rental car all over Iceland's roads. During departure, we were driven in a shuttle to the airport (all 6 of us) and customer service was outstanding (helpful, informative staff). Next time though, I'd choose a car rental at the airport terminal. Also note that you pay extra days if your flight arrives early at 6.30 am and you want to pick up your car rental before 10 am and return it later than 10 am at 1.30 pm because your flight doesn't leave until 5.30 pm.
