Hild Cottages are part of the Hild accommodation complex. They are set on Lake Myvatn’s northern shore, in the middle of a 300-year-old lava field. The cottages offer breath-taking views over the lake. There are also unique views over the lava field. You won’t find this anywhere else!

Lake Myvatn is a stop-off on the Diamond Circle sightseeing route in Iceland. Other stops on this road trip include the town of Husavik, Asbyrgi canyon, Dettifoss waterfall, Godafoss waterfall, and Hljodaklettar rocks.

The village of Reykjahlid is within walking distance of the cottages at 0.6 miles (0.9 kilometers) away. As well as several restaurants, cafes, and bars, you’ll also find several amenities here. These include a gas station, bank, supermarket, health care center, and a swimming pool.

Myvatn Nature Baths are a little over three miles (5.2 kilometers) away. If you want to tick off a lagoon-like bathing experience while you’re in Iceland then this is the place to do it. Enjoy the beautiful scenery and nature while you relax in the naturally heated pools.
